That was some dumb football.

On the Giants second to last possession while they were still up by 7, I figured they should have gone for it on 4th down rather than punt it. What did they net with that punt verus failing on 4th down? 20 yards? The way Vick and the Eagles were playing at that point, 20 yards was child's play.
I'm so glad I'm not a Giant fan today.

They will run Coughlin out of NY after this one. It replaces the game when then Eagle Herm Edwards returned a fumble when the Giants were trying to run out the clock as the worst loss ever.

He deserves it for the way he treated the punter. What a tool.

They were contemplating this on Comcast Sports Philly last night. There was a mini debate as to which game had the most impact and one guy said the '78 game and I agree because that started a chain reaction for both teams. For starters, it helped the Eagles make the playoffs for the first time since 1960 and gave them their first winning season since '66. For the Giants, their offensive coordinator got fired after the game and at the end of the season, the entire coaching staff got fired along with their general manager. A new GM came in and hired Parcells who turned the franchise around.

Yesterdays game's impact won't be known for some time but it certainly handed the division over to the Eagles.

Just to add, this was only the 9th time that a team was down 21 or more in the 4th quarter and come back to win. Of those 9, I was in attendance at 2(1985 Vikings/Eagles and 1987 Cards/Bucs).

Yeah. I don't know about that. In "The Miracle at the Meadowlands" the Giants were winning 17-12. If they had kicked away from Jackson there still would have been OT and Philly had all of the momentum.

I think the Giants would have lost in overtime unless Philly did something stupid themselves. The Giants all of the sudden had no answers for Vick; I think the entire collapse in the final 7:30 or so is a worthy competitor for the Miracle in the Meadowlands.
I hate both teams but the Eagles moreso and when I saw on the scoreboard that the Giants went up 31-10, I thought that's it, the game is over.

Apples to Oranges. The comparison was one play against the other.
