She is definitely smoking hottttt in person. Pictures don't even do her justice. Donald, a-bomb and I all had the pleasure of meeting her and taking pictures with her at the superbowl. WOW!

Yes sir. She is SMOKING hot in person. One of my favorite pics from the super bowl.

#2. Respect. Real respect is earned, not given.
So the baseline is disrespect?

I disagree. I think you should treat your fellow man (or woman, in this case), with respect as a default. Even if they do something to lose it, when you're in your workplace you should conduct yourself in a manner that you can take your self-respect home with you.

It comes down to simply not being a dick to people.

If you don't have respect for someone, then don't be their friend. Don't go out of your way to do nice things for them. Don't do business with them if you don't have to. But don't be a dick to them, that just makes other lose respect for you.

Read it again, and you will understand. Furthermore, quote the whole quote not just the one that makes it seem like that what you imply, is what I am saying. You just typed out the whole explaination under this question you asked so obvilious you understood. If it was to make a point ? Then I apologize, good example to push home the point.

It is silly to think that one would just go disrespecting people. That is no good at all.

Personally, I am one to just leave most people alone, and leave them be. Even when encountered I will cordial.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the case we have here ? There is reason to call into question the dress of said reporter.

If I come into work with a spaghetti stained tank top on, broken sandals, and dirty shorts with holes in them. The respect I will get INSTANTLY goes down. And, IMO, I would deserve that lack of respect. My actions have not earned the respect that I may think I should get no matter what. Just sayin'

This point of view is why (IMHO) we still have a long way to go as a society/culture/species.

So the line is drawn at asking for sexual favors? Maybe if one asks in a very romantic way it would be okay.

I know you know what I meant about how to treat women.

FWIW, don't change your avatar. ;)
Depends on the individual... For me yes... If some dude told my wife she was 'hot' I would be just fine with it. If someone said something to my wif e that made her uncomfortable then I would step in.

Yes, I knew what you meant but I had to take that shot... And me personally I don't do cat call stuff...

Was this the same person running around a press day at the Super Bowl in a veil and asking players to marry her? I know she was the one going around measuring biceps. Real hard-hitting reporting there.

I have not read anything about her dress or behavior at the Jets practice for me to think she was acting unprofessional that day. It sounds like the Jets players went over the line and the coaches egged on the bad behavior.

However, I agree that all reporters (male and female), should dress and act like professionals when they are on the job. There has to be a base protocol for these people, especially when they are covering athletes in their most vulnerable states (out of pads, undressed, worn out, hurting, etc). They need to respect the venue.

By all accounts reports are she was on the field and in the locker room..

But when they threw the balls near her she was on the field IIRC.

That sounds like the case I'm remembering because I do recall that the players had complained about the reporter before because they essentially said she was just there to look at naked football players she wasn't really doing much interviewing.

But at no time did she tell these players/coaches to grow up ?

Self-respect helps getting more personal respect.

Mind you, that the Jets players and coaches are totally in the wrong to begin with (they are grown men, they shoud act like it), but there are two sides to this. Both have some blame.

Dress yourself to attract attention, and then get pissed that it happens ? Not I am not falling for the "poor little me" crap. She knows what she is doing, and why she has a job.

Sersiously, you think people tune in to hear what this lady has to say about the Jets, or to look at her body ? Again, let's call a spade, a spade here.

Years ago women weren't even allowed in the press box. I know because when all of the men in one of my journalism classes in college got "the tour" at Anaheim Stadium during an Angels game we women were specifically disallowed. We didn't even get in on the free tickets to see the game.

It's been a long haul for women to be working members of the press corps that cover sports teams. Knowing that history I've been watching this story with interest. Ms. "Smoking Hot" was on (I think) Shepard Smith's show with her blouse opened down to here to talk about her "situation". Give me a break. Can we say publicity?

Thank you Dave Chapelle:

If a woman wears a short skirt to work, she has no right to complain when a man gives her the attention that she was seeking by putting that dress on in the first place.
In the immortal words of dave chappelle,
"The girl says, 'Wait a minute! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a *****!' Which is true. Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't ever forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is ***** CONFUSING! It just is.
Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me, saying, 'Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!' 'OH-H0H!!! Just because I'm DRESSED this way does not make me a police officer!'
All right, ladies, fine. You are not a *****. But you are wearing a *****'s uniform."

Moral of the story, dress like a news reporter. ****..... and stay away from a Drunk Joe Namath.

She didn't complain. Another reporter did. Every interview I've seen of her is basically, "Yep, that happened and I was embarrassed but I just wanted to get my interview done." She was back in Mexico when she got a call from the NFL.

Even worse.

Any idea who the "other reporter" was, who deem it nessicary to save poor Mr. Inez ?

Jeez.

Do they allow male reporters in women locker rooms ?

Yes. However, most colleges don't allow reporters in any locker room, male or female.

As long as one reporter gains access to the locker room, all reporters have to gain access.

Christine Brennan, who is with the Association for Women in Sports Media.

As Jason Whitlock points out in his column today, Brennan was the one who blamed the victim in the Erin Andrews peephole incident. I can't understand how she can reconcile her two contradicting points-of-view.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...ew-york-jets-nfl-truths-jason-whitlock-091610

Brennan ripped Erin “Sideline Barbie” Andrews after she was stalked and videotaped by a perverted fan. Brennan demanded that Sideline Barbie rely on her talents and brains rather than appealing to the lowest common denominator.
