Ill get one more up here today, but this is my first look out my window. That is the bird bath in my back yard. The snow is almost over it. I'm going to guess I have between 30-40". It's still snowing at a good clip.

Reports are coming in from CT of abandoned cars on the highway, plows that couldn't keep up. Major roads are closed and completely covered by inches of snow and are impassable. Emergency vehicles had a very hard time responding. History wasn't just made last night, it was destroyed.

Gov. Malloy has closed ALL roads in the state. Unreal.

It's the next morning (Sat.) in Central NJ.

Only lost satellite for one hour last night. (Got to watch most of Hopkins vs. Siena LAX opener).

No power outtage (yet - do we have a fingers-crossed icon?)

No trees fell on our house (yet)

#1 on snow-plow list for the first time in 5 years (& plowed by 8 am).

Storm is outtahere - 10" of snow, but little if any wind. (i can do that).

Just 5- 10 miles northeast of us (on the other side of NYC) things are a whole lot worse - stay safe, Mitch and CT (you've got single wing weather).

Oh yeah, no AM newspaper delivery but was pleasantly surprised to be able to watch Tom M's and Amos's intro videos on the Cardinal website. Life is good.

PS (for all you non-NYC area Cardinal fans) - A real treat in situations like these is to hear NYC Mayor Bloomberg repeat his emergency status reports in fractured Spanish. (He also has an aide at his side who delivers really animated sign language).

Glad to hear all of you are safe and warm. Wow, CT, keep those Sam Adams on snow for tonight, m'man! Glad you are all set, Jeff. Lord knows the Jersey NYC area needs some mercy.

My power did not go out, thank goodness. There are 6-7 foot drifts in my backyard---the amount of snow is immense---there's still no traffic on the roads---could take a couple of days to dig out.

Spent the AM watching the East West Shrine Bowl and will make a report soon. Nice way to catch up on the draft.

Warm wishes from Wrentham MA to all my pals.

Im one of the lucky ones in RI to still have power cant take pics now but looking out the window the snow is up to the door handles of my car, its sick. The area I manage is without power and that could last well into next week so work should be a delight.

Hey, guys....BE SAFE! Prayers lifted...

I grew up in Meriden, CT. (About a 1/2 hr. south of Hartford) From the looks on the news it's BURIED! LUV'D the S*N*O*W as a kid but, of course, as an adult it was a nightmare. That's why I went South and now in Charleston, S.C. where it's 65 outside/blue sky. Still, part of me wishes I was there in CT. playing football in the S*N*O*W (course, 2 ft. is way too much to play in)
GREAT MEMORIES, though! :D Anyways...BE SAFE!

Mark in SC :)

Please PRAY for my dad. He's almost 80 and in the middle of all this.

CT & MA Look frightful. That's a lotta snow!

Only 9" here in Garwood, NJ. Nothing to worry about.

Got to use my snowblower for the 1st time in 2 yrs...love the snowblower...LOVE IT!

Did my sidewalk & driveway, then did the sidewalk of my neighbors behind me...then did the sidewalks for the 3 houses next door (we're on the corner)...then went across the street & did the sidewalks & driveway of the house on the opposite corner to help out the young woman who was trying to it all by herself (not sure where the other tenants of that building were - slackers!!).

Did I mention that I freakin' LOVE the snowblower?!? LOVE IT!!! :D

Haha true that. It's is insane here. My wife and I spent 14 hour this weekend shoveling 4 foot drifts off our roof, shoveled around the foundation and clearing the driveway. I have a 10 foot high by 6 foot radius snow mound in my yard from all the snow from the roof. It's still not enough. I can't move there is not a part of me that doesn't not hurt right now.

The majority of schools are closed again tomorrow and non essential state employees are told to stay home because the secondary roads are so bad. They say it could be days before all roads are back to normal. One more month until spring...

If you guys lose power please stay warm, it's going to tug down arctic air on the backside and temps will be at or below zero tomorrow night. I have a feeling this thing could give the Blizzard of '78 a run for its money, which coincidently was 35 years ago last Wednesday.

God, I remember that blizzard. We felt that all the way in South Jersey. It was the most snow that had ever fallen in my then young life(I was 12 at the time).
