A 2007 study by Clemson University found that the average American walks about 900 miles per year.

Another study by the American Beer Institute found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Americans get approximately 41 miles per gallon.

Not bad.

funny The first time that I have had a beer in 15 years, is when I had an Irish car bomb. I must get 0..000015 mpg.

The key word in all this is AVERAGE

So how many of you will confess to drinking 45 gallons per year to make up for my lack of drinking beer?

Not only that, but I am guessing my AVERAGE (about 900 miles per year) walking is on the low end.

I think we can also lower your walking average then too, since it sounds like you spend alot of time passed out.. :D

No. How'd you calculate that number?

If the average drinks 22 gallons per year, and I drink 0, someone has to be drinking my share. I don't like the number 44, so I rounded it up to 45.

If you had one beer in 15 year. You getting great MPB(Miles per Beer).

900x15=13500, 13500/12oz=1125miles per ounce. Your a hybrid.

Gas mileage ratings are always overstated. I never get what the sticker claims. This goes for my beer mpg also.
I'm closer to 10 mpg by my calcs. Of course Im running a big block as eveidenced by the extended hood and air conditioning aka cigars.
