Marshall Faulk
Deon Sanders
Richard Dent
Ed Sabol
Les Richter
Cris Hanberger

Can't argue the first 4. Don't know enough about the senior guys but vaguely remember Hanburger but it was the end of his career. As for Sabol, surprised it took this long for him to get in considering how he changed the way we look at football. The man, and his son, are geniuses. The worst thing about this, Deon is going to be more annoying.

1) My favorite era of football was the '70's & I always thought of Hanburger as very good, but not great!!!

2) The Sabols...freaking great & wayyyyy overdue!!! Steve should join his dad someday in the HOF & I got to briefly chat w/him Friday at the NFL Experience...nice guy!!!

3) I still don't understand the oversites of Tagliabue, Drew Pearson among others over the years.

4) Anyone watch the broadcast HOF announcement on NFL Network yesterday? Michael Irvin is such an ass...everytime he would talk to an inductee he always spins the interview back to him & his days & experiences somehow. Everything he always says is always about the "Cokemaker"... OMG I really, really hate him!!!

Definitely agree. However, there should be a separate wing of the HOF for contributors like Sabol. You could also include coaches, GMs, owners, and others who didn't play on the field, but deserve to be in the HOF.

The way the system works now, Sabol took one of the five spots away from another player who deserves to get in. (Not counting the two veterans' committee spots)

There also needs to be some ex-players or other HOF members in the voting process instead of just sports writers.

What deserving ex player got slighted? I suspect that the HOF is becoming diluted.

For starters, IMO Cris Carter and Charles Haley should be in. Probably before Dent and Sharpe.

IMO, two very good players, but not HOF. Addition by subtraction might be better. Players don't get better after they retire. If there were no inductees , in some future years, would they cancel the preseason Hall of Fame game for that year? I think the process has become a media/entertainment event, rather than pure honor and deserved recognition.

Ed Sabol won't be in the players wing. He doesn't get a bust. Only coaches and players get busts.
