and it was easy. Throw the ball. That was the game plan. He can't cover. He is 1/2 safety. He is America's darling. If Jones and Jordy Nelson would have caught those drops that game would have been a blowout. He was 3 steps behind every play. They went after a weakness.

They went after a weakness because he was hobbled by an achilles injury. When Troy is healthy, he is a monster at SS. Dude is a game changer as he's proven throughout his career. I'd like to see him stay healthy more often, but anyone discounting his importance and ability on the field is outside their mind.

Im not gonna say anything either way about this as far as to say ovverrated or not.. But.. Was Troy hobbled by injuries in SB 43 when he got torched by Warner in that game too? DB's definitly is the weakness to the Steelers D.. Troy was 3 steps behind covering in that game as well..

I don't think so. Their defense is completely different when he isn't in the game. He is an impact player that makes everyone else around him better.

Think about all the games where the Steelers have had trouble.. Teams with great QB's and receivers.. Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Warner etc .. They attacked the DB's .. Now think of the games where the Steelers thrive.. Ravons, Jets etc .. Teams that play the ground smash game.. In those games Troy hits hard and gets physical (jumping over the oline).. Teams that pass the ball, Troy and his DB buddies get torched ..

Ta da. Thank you for making my case. He is one of those guys like Roy Williams, safety for the Cowboys. Makes spectacular hits and couldn't cover a lick. Troy is the announcers wet dream. They love talking about his running around and flying through the air plays. He makes the corners look bad. He reminds me of a sugar overdosed 6 year old running around the playground.

So we're saying he looks better against OK QB's than he does against the best ones in the game, and that is surprising how?

I'm just going to say I'd take him at SS over Adrian Wilson any day.

really? this year, in just 14 games, he had 7 picks and 11 passes defended, missed over half the season last year yet still had 3 picks and 7 passes defended and in 2008 he had 7 picks and 17 passes defended. he must just get really lucky A LOT to make that many plays in the passing game considering he can't cover a lick.

dude is NOTHING like Roy Williams.

It depends on the scheme. When he's having to play back more he can't make one of his spectacular plays. It's when he gets to roam closer up front that he does so. Depends on the offense of the team they are playing.

Troy overrated? What a joke. You can't be serious. Just ask all the defensive coordinators and even the Packers who schemed for the guy. Look at the #'s when he doesn't play. Seriously, when one guy gets that much attention he is that good.

Troy is a man beast that I would take in a heartbeat.

What sucks is that Troy has to make up for pieces of crap like Clark. Seriously that guy should not be a starting corner in the NFL. Teams torched that guy all season and the other DB's had to try and make up for it.
