There was a documentary shown on TV here around the playoffs that had the Giants staff in Melbourne trying out a bunch of local punting talent.
It was interesting to see some of the technical details that go into punting.

Clear back when I was in high school (back when saber toothed tigers were falling into the LaBrea tar pits) we had a Swiss exchange student who was a soccer player back home. Our coach promptly recruited him and made him our FG kicker. That guy could kick the p--- out of the ball. I've always thought we should be looking at guys outside the traditional system.
