For all the bellyaching that the players are doing reagrding the new guidleines for illegal and high risk hits, the one thing that all the hits in question from this past week had: Merriweather, Harrison & Robinson all had their arms down by their sides. None of them were attempting to tackle their opponent, they were launching themselves head first toward their opponent. Robinson at least led with his shoulder.

I like big hits as much as the next guy, but with players griping over long term health benefits for retirees, they can't argue with the league trying to take steps to protect players while they are playing. No one is saying take the hitting out of football, they are saying that if players are playing fundementally sound football, you can still make big hits and plays and play safer. Heck, they changed the rules years ago when Deacon Jones used to decapitate players with his clothesline tackles.

Can't ask for long term benefits is you are trying to injure someone instead of playing football - they just are not the same. Freakin' Socialists :)

I told you guys after the 2008 superbowl he was dirty.

He had a helmet to helmet hit on hightower in that game, and then assulted one of our special teams players on one of our punt returns.

That dirty mickie fickie.
