For the last few weeks, both sides appeared to acknowledge that the relationship was over. Watt deserved a new start. And he gets it.

this is just the beginning league wide

releasing Watt takes the Texans from $13mm over the cap to $4mm under the cap

guy raised something like 45 million for the flood relief effort. He was their larry fitz....

That team is not operating like an NFL franchise is supposed to operate. If im "miller time" Keim im calling Caserio and asking for anything they have in a trade.

Cardinals need to fly him out and wine and dine him.

Pretty sure he is plenty to give at this point

The guy will be 32 years old next month and has battled injuries for the last couple of years. Although he still has something left(unlike past former star signings, Terrell Suggs and Emmit Smith), the question is how much at age 32?

I just think it would be a real gamble to invest free agent dollars in Watt. He could be real good next year, or he could be washed. No thank you.

You aren't going to give him 20 mil. However. If you can make a 2 or 3 year deal around 12 per year...that is workable.

Hasn’t Watt been super banged up/not real effective for years?

Injuries in 2016, 2017, and 2019 where only played 3, 5, and 8 games respectively. Big bounce back year in 2018 with 16 sacks and 7 forced fumbles. Played whole season last year but pedestrian 5 sacks. He’s likely a big gamble at this juncture depending on how much you pay him.

from 2012-2015 he was an absolute beast with 68 sacks and 119 tackles for loss. That’s 17 sacks and 30 tackles for loss per year!

Obviously Steelers seem logical I'm just saying the Cards should see if D Hop has any influence and if so, if there's a way to make a cap friendly offer. Don't throw the bank at him just see if there's a possibility.

My guess is no

My guess is that he will want to go to a playoff team that has a much better chance of winning than the Cards, even if we could afford him.
