Kornheiser suspended from PTI for two weeks

ESPN has suspended "Pardon The Interruption" co-host Tony Kornheiser for two weeks following comments he made on his Washington-based radio show last week.

On his radio show, Kornheiser made critical comments about the wardrobe of morning "SportsCenter" co-anchor Hannah Storm.

ESPN executive vice president of content John Skipper released the following statement:

"Tony Kornheiser's comments about Hannah Storm were entirely inappropriate. Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences. Tony has been suspended from PTI for two weeks. Hannah is a respected colleague who has been an integral part of the success of our morning SportsCenter."

Kornheiser apologized for the remarks on his radio show Friday.
I didn't hear what exactly he said. I went to Youtube, but the video had no sound. In the comments below they were talking about Tony stating that she dresses like a street walker and tries to dress like someone a lot younger. I see her in the morning on ESPN and she is very thin and in good shape. I don't see her dressing like a street walker, but she does wear tight clothes. I don't have a problem with the way she dresses.

Found this

"Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today," Kornheiser said. "She’s got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt … way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now.

"She’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body … I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … but Hannah Storm … come on now! Stop! What are you doing?"

Anyone who has seen Hannah Storm on Sportscenter in the mornings knows that Kornheiser hit the bullseye on this one. She tries way too hard and can't pull it off IMO

The problem here is that Kornheiser is paid to be a sarcastic, volatile personality with controversial opinions. It brings in the ratings. Yet when he speaks the truth and gives his opinion, the political correctness suits have to swoop in and shut him down. He wasn't even on ESPN when he made the comments.

The problem is that he is right. ESPN is trying to sex up Hannah Storm and she is past her time. She is entering the Lesley Visser stage of sports chicks who used to be hot, but don't realize they aren't anymore. Hopefully Erin Andrews knows better when she's in her 50s...

A) Kornheiser is the man and tells like it is and

B) He hit the nail on the head, 47yo's don't dress like that. She missed that window by about two decades.

That's it. The PC police are on their way. What? You think you have the right to your own opinion? That is long gone my friend.

It doesn't have anything to do with political correctness. It's business. They work for the same company. You can't go out and devalue your own product and get away with it.

He wouldn't be suspended if he said it about someone that works for Fox Sports.

Hannah Storm and that dude that she co anchors with are the most unprofessional anchors I have ever seen on espn.. Making weird remarks, drinking soda while on camera and following the camera around .. Its horriying to watch..

Somebody had to say it. Truth hurts. It is PC, all the way! Maybe you don't mind losing your right to speak your mind, but I do. Again, PC will be the death of our country.

PC spreads way over company lines, again and again,

Tell me how A)you've lost your ability to speak your mind and B) how this is political correctness.

This is about selling a product. I promise you if you worked for pepsi and were caught badmouthing mountain dew (a pepsi product) on TV you'd get worse than a suspension. It's business. Nothing more.

Hannah Storm is not the product. Not saying I agree with the comments, just feel that was an inaccurate analogy. It would almost be more accurate to say it's like badmouthing a Mountain Dew delivery boy (or probably somewhere in between the two).

You're fooling yourself if you don't think the anchors are the product.

Kornheiser was just being honest. And he was right. Someone needed to say it. Just didn't need to say it on air.

Guess we watch SportsCenter for different reasons. I watch it for sports highlights and information. Is your motive in watching it really Hannah Storm?
