Matt Forte Announces He Won't Return to Bears Next Season

Forte posted a message on Instagram that confirmed his time in Chicago is coming to an end, explaining it wasn't his choice:

Despite my wishes, my days as a member of the Chicago Bears have sadly come to an end. I was informed earlier this week from the GM that they will not be attempting to re-sign me in free agency.

That's to bad. I bet he will find a good home. No way it would be here though.

This is a guy I'd bring in. He's the same exact type of back as Johnson, great in pass pro, you can't have enough RBs and they can make Ellington run STs.

Except that Forte will can get a 2-3 year deal and start for a handful of teams. Dallas, Tennessee or Oakland would be great places for him to still be productive. If Tennessee can land a #1 WR, their offense could be good with Forte in the mix.

Please no! Anywhere else but those 2 places. Can't imagine Hyde/Forte or Rawls/Forte- now those or 2 headed monsters

Pats would be a great place for him if wants to win a title and is willing to take a lesser role for less money.

Thirty year old running backs pretty much have to take less money regardless. It's not a position that smart teams like the Pats would spend a lot of cap space on, but as you said, that would be a great place for him.

He won't have any stats if he plays for the Pats. RBs go there to die.

Pass. Rather have the younger much more explosive DJ on the field.

Heard he might be Lynch's replacement in Seattle.

Rumor down in Cowboy country from a few sources that the Cowboys are interested

he'd be a pretty good fit there too... with Romo back and Dez healthy, that's a dangerous football team again.

could see him going up to GB also in the ultimate FU move to Chicago.

The word is the Cowboys now have realistic expectations for McFadden and are actually satisfied with keeping him in a more prominent role on the offense, meaning he can produce but not at the inflated level JJ the Arkansas fan envisioned but like Forte, he needs some rest between carries and Forte makes sense. I think the biggest problem is that Romo is so often injured now, the ability for him to play a whole season is almost fantasy at this time in my opinion. I still like Chris Johnson even with the injury to spell David Johnson and I hope CJ accepts a reasonable offer if Keim provides one
