I think it's probably one of the least logical posts i've read in a long time

So because there are bad owners (like vick) who don't know how to handle animals and allow those animals to cause harm to others - it's OK for those bad owners to torture, abuse and kill the animals

Just a huge logic gap

Would it be cool if I went around and started blowing up cars in parking lots because not a day goes by where someone can't handle the responsibility of driving and causes harm to innocent people by their own lack of abilities

Drunk drivers are reckless, murder innocents with their actions and cars are very dangerous items - big, fast, etc ... you better be able to control it or something bad will happen ..... so might as well go to various bars and take the cars completely out of the equation - destroy them all

I don't see how some people being crap pet owners makes it acceptable for vick to do what he did

In a van...down by the river.
Not alot of talk about Vick the QB in this thread....i understand the morale grudge but IMO he's a still a QB who must be dealt with on different terms. You must gameplan for Vick in ways that you dont gameplan for the majority of the other QB's in the league...thats worth alot of CA$H. He played very well last season.

21 TD's 6 INT's.
3,000 yrds passing
100.2 rating

Dude rushed for 676 yrds and scored a CAREER HIGH 9 rushing TD's to go along with those 21 TD passes....i would've payed him too if i were Philly.

Crime does pay.

J/K.

I will never like the guy, but he seems, at least at this point, a changed man.

Now that he has money again, we will see.

As for the contract. There is no doubt he has earned it with his play.

If the only reason you're all over Vick is that you're a Dog Lover then you need to go take a look at all the people who have been mauled by Dogs that owners couldn't or wouldn't control.

I think that the Feds need to put an end to Pit Bulls. You can keep the ones you have but they all have to be fixed so the breed dies out. Several other breeds I can think of would fit that bill also.

Works both ways.

Let the man play football.

It's not pit bulls that's the problem, it's the manner in which they are trained and the care (or lack thereof) they are given. Pit bulls get a bad rap because they are the canine symbol for aggressiveness in urban, underprivileged societies. I used to work in Compton and when I drove through the neighborhoods, chances are the dog the families had in their yard was a pit bull.

Hell, any dog can be just as, if not more, viscous. I've been attacked once by a dog in my life. Tore a hole under my left calf and severed a nerve in my thumb. It was literally a bloody mess. The breed of the dog: chocolate lab that was left behind in an old foreclosed home in Avondale.

As for me, I have a bully breed dog and he is the sweetest thing on the planet. The most harm he'd ever do to anyone is sniff their crotch. The dog trainer we hired to train our dogs has dealt with pit bulls who were former fight dogs; and he was able to alleviate their aggressive behavior and made them safe enough to live in a normal, dog friendly households.

Some of you should never go to Korea or the Philippines...

Why? Do they intentionally mistreat, torture and eventually kill animals that aren't threatening them and are not subsequently used for food or clothing? I realize much of the world views animals differently than many of us do so I'd be willing to cut the guy slack for his behavior if it didn't scream I AM SICK.

Because I would hate for someone to go to the Philippines and order a chicken dish only to later find out it was dog.

Because it isn't fun watching a dog hanging from its hind-quarters bleeding out.

The definition of mistreat, torture for you and I are extremely different than other cultures.

Michael Vick paid his time and a very stand-up guy in Tony Dungy says MV gets he screwed up. Yes MV is saying all the right things but no one except MV knows if he means it...

The chickens in the far cage and the dogs are equal in their status in that picture.

Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs, but even to the cannibals of yesteryear, I am sure they saw nothing wrong with what they were doing to other humans. You're superimposing your view of dogs as pets/companions over one whose view equated dogs to things. Property.

He actually is NOT saying all the right things.

Immediately after being released from prison he whined about not being able to get a puppy for his daughter.

Recently he said he didn't understand why people did not like him and the whole dog-fighting/dog-killing stuff "just happened."

He's an idiot who is not remorseful by his words.

One question. Do any of you who work for a corporation would be able to commit a felony that vick did and then come back and get a raise after prison? The NFL should NOT employ felons.

No. Nor do we have the skill set of Michael Vick in an industry that where athleticism is paid a premium. He has the right to pursue a career just like anyone else.

So Athletism trumps all? I know a friend who did something very dumb when he was 19 and was charged with shoplifting. Cant get a job in any bank, law firm, etc with 6 years of college 2 degrees with a 4.0 GPA..... And this happened 12 years ago. BS The NFL should not let Felons play IMO
