There is no question that Nolan Arenado would love to be traded from the #Rockies, and yes, he will gladly waive his no-trade clause for the #STLCards, an organization he deeply admired.

Braves have checked in on Arenado, too. Probably a long shot. Rockies want big haul back but don’t want to eat much $ (that part makes some sense as he may opt out after 2021 anyway). #STLCards need may be greater than Braves.

COL got very little in exchange. A 27 year old P and a couple of prospects (none of their top guys like Gorman or Liberatore). STL management is one of the best in the business. They bring in big names and very rarely if ever give up top talent.

The #Rockies and #Stlcards say the Nolan Arenado trade won’t be finalized for days because of the complex financial aspects. The Rockies are sending cash that varies whether the opt-outs are exercised in 2021/2022; Arenado is deferring salary; and Cards are adding 1-year, $15M.
