I believe the current deal was for $43 Billion. Could be seeing nearly double on the salary cap.

110 billion? I love football but our priorities as a society are off.
NASCAR brings in almost $1 billion per year, with people just watching cars go around in a circle.

That's for TV and Sponsorship...I don't think it includes track ticket sales.

I'm happy for the players. Won't make much difference to the team composition, just means free agents get paid proportionately more.

That’s insane money… I love the game, but I really despise the league. Where does all this money go???

They were losing money hand over fist with the current deal. They'd have to ~triple advertising fees to break even. NFL driven cost inflation, hahahaha.

12 years...so less than 10B a year.

I know thats crazy money...but having the NFL games is almost invaluable. You are guarenteed to get huge audiences every week, both locally, nationally, etc.

This deal alone is about 285 Million a year...PER TEAM.

And they’ll tell us they will have to raise ticket prices…

considering the inflation we got from the current administration, a pack a gum will be 75 bucks in the next few years...

Private companies buying highly watched tv events to sell ad space on has nothing to do with society
Well...I don't know about nothing to do with it. It does highlight our growing need and desire for extreme consumption and consumerism as a society. IMO.

This is a salient point. The players wouldn’t make astronomical money if not for tv contracts. The tv contracts are due to the advertising they can sell. Of course producers want eyes on products. So in the end people aren’t really valuing the players skills at those dollars, their salaries are the product of the marketing system. Those dollars are going to go somewhere due to eyes on the product. Tv execs? Tv as sales? The league? The owner? The players? As long as marketing on tv is a thing exorbitant dollars to entertainers will continue.
