The most sure fire way (odds) of having a great QB is drafting one in the 1st round! History says so & believing there's a better way is insane!
my guess is drafting a talented QB is the right way to go....as the norm, those QB's with the most talent are usually identified by the NFL masses well in advance of the draft and all are aware of who they are....which is why they tend to go early in the draft. on occasion, guys with high levels of talent go unrecognized and slip...rarely.....however, drafting him in the first round is never going to make Bob Hill, QB, north central southern Nevada state....a super bowl winning QB
but one could argue that due to the investment involved in a first round pick over a fifth round pick....the first rounder gets more chances to succeed...where as with the fifth rounder it is more often than not....sink or swim....
