BILLS FIRE REX AND ROB RYAN, NAME ANTHONY LYNN NEW HEAD COACH

The Bills announced Tuesday that Rex Ryan has been fired as head coach.

Ryan, who was named head coach in Buffalo prior to the start of the 2015 season, has posted a 15-16 record in his time with the Bills, but no playoff appearances. With the rumor that 2016 was a “playoffs or bust” season for Ryan and his team, the fact that Buffalo was sitting at 4-2 after six games this year (a record that included a 16-0 win over a Tom Brady-less Patriots team), sparked some optimism that the Bills could reach the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

Rex as a DC? Have you watched much of his defenses the last few years? Terrible. Bettcher is better.

I hope we never have to see either of these guys again. They need to go to the horse ranch and spend a lot of time with their wife's feet.

Must be something about Lake Erie franchises. Browns and Bills continue to reshuffle the coaching deck and end up with the same results.

They will probably win at the jets next week meaning he would have finished 8-8....same as last year. I honestly think they are an average team so 8-8 makes sense to me...but I guess when you start out 4-1 more is expected. Plus he is kind of a walking drama show.

And yet Jeff Fisher managed to parlay 8-8 records into a 20 year head coaching career.

Timing of the move seems weird. Did they do it in order to lock in Anthony Lynn? And who is Lynn? Anyone know anything about him?

I dont understand how any team can fire a coach when they dont have a QB. Bill B would be a trash coach if he didnt have Tom Brady.

Look at Whis. Pretty darn good when Warner was here huh.

Bill will hire a new HC. Still not have a QB. Lose, and fire him too. Rinse and repeat.

You know whos an excellent candidate to be fired? Chuck Pagano (and the GM, and owner for that matter). Hows a team with the best young QB in the NFL fail so badly every year? Thats a team that has no excuses.

I disagree. A good quarterback make an average head coach look good. A great coach will win, period. Belichick won with Castle and I can't remember the guy's name from the beginning of this year. Alex Smith isn't exactly a Hall of Fame candidate yet Andy Reid is winning in Kansas City. ( I really like Andy Reid and wanted the Cardinals to hire him before they got BA.

While I agree that Pagano's days are numbered, you're contention that the Colts "fail so badly every year" is simply untrue. His first 3 seasons the team won 33 games(albeit BA was at the helm most of the first year) and last year they won 8 games with Luck out most of the year and this year their defense lost several key players to injury. I'm not saying Pagano is a good coach but to suggest he's been a complete failure is a misnomer.

Exactly. It takes both to approach greatness.

And, Reid has been amazing in Kansas City as far as I am concerned. They have really struggled to find WRs worth a crap and he still manages to win.

The Cassel year was a fluke. That was literally a superbowl team that he just managed. Im talking when a team doesnt have a starting QB every year. Cassel was similar to Nick Foles. Remember his 2nd season in Philly? Dude looked amazing. But we now realize it was a fluke.

Andy Reid is a good coach and Alex Smith is an adequate QB. They help each other win. And thats the point im trying to make, you need both.

I think Rex Ryan would be a good coach, so long as he had a QB to work with.

Then how do you explain Coach B's 36-44 record in Cleveland and 25-22 in his first 3 seasons in N-E.?

And if Any Reid could win the big one, he'd still be in Philly.

Nick Foles benefited from Chip Kelly. It took time for people to figure out how to beat Chip Kelly's system. And you can say Matt cassel's first year as a starter was a fluke. That's fine. I disagree. People haven't been able to stop the Patriots with or without Tom Brady at the helm for over a decade. That isnt a fluke, thats a fact.

The list of coaches that would be good with a good quarterback is a mile long. And probably includes Jeff Fisher

So what? The fact he started slow in his career has ZERO impact on how good he is now. His gameplan for the Cards in week 1 this year was brilliant. I hate the SOB, but damn, he had that team ready to have a chance to win and Catanzaro gave him a break. Based on talent, it never should've come down to one kick. The Cards should've pounded them.

Tom Brady has been there for 16 years, there is no "without Tom Brady" to speak of. There was 1 year with Cassel and 2 games with Garoppolo. Both of them managed Tom Bradys team.

I think Bill massively fails without Tom Brady. All of Bills praised little trades are completely protected by the fact he has the greatest QB of all time. None of his personell decisions matter. His draft choices are mostly busts. Any other team and theyd be a 4-12 franchise.

There is no without Brady except for the one and a quarter Seasons without Brady. Ok. They didn't manage Brady's system. They managed Belichick's system.
