Was sad to see this, Rodney was one of my favorite players. I'll never forget the games against Dallas where he tried constantly to dunk on Shawn Bradley.

This is very tragic. It shows everyone not to take life for granted. Rodney certainly deserved better.

That is really awful. Unfortunately during my time as a clinician I have met several athletes who lost mobility due to motorcycles and ATVs.

Incredibly sad.

I remember riding a friends three wheel (atv type) and flipped it over first time out, had to push the thing off me. Wasn't even going fast, started drifting off the path, and trying to brake to avoid a bush, and it flipped over right before stopping.

In other words, those things are dangerous. Only got a couple of scrapes, but decided atv's weren't exactly my cup of tea. Not afraid of them, but won't exactly run towards the next atv I see in anticipation of riding one. You have to respect the atv or you will pay.

Very sad for Rodney Rogers. Hopefully some of it comes back with time. Not too abreast of the research but I thought I heard we might be about 5-10 years away from being able to re-connect the spinal column or fix the break by regrowing the nerves or something like that.

That sucks, I really liked RR when he played for the Suns.

Me, too. I still have (somewhere) a great poster they gave out at a game several years ago, "The Rogers-Robinson Wrecking Crew." Rodney and Uncle Cliffy--in unis, but all rigged out in work boots and hard hats, looking mean, with a jackhammer and sledge, etc. Back in the day...

P.S. Suns home page has a link to send him a message/wishes.

My thoughts and prayers are with Rodney. He always gave a 100 percent effort and wore the Suns uniform with pride and dignity. He always gave a great effort. It puts our frustrations with the current team in its proper perspective

Man thats just terrible. I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy much less a quality guy like Rodney.

I wonder what the chances are thats its just temperorary?? Could he have just "bruised" the nerves? I know if its severed thats like no chance of a recovery.

Quads (high level) injuries have a higher % of gaining some mobility back as opposed to lower level spinal injuries. Let's hope so. Either way it's an awful injury. His life is going to change dramatically.

wow, there is some SERIOUS drama going on in the comments below the article, like some family members bringing up child support and all kinds of other crap.

Def wishing Rodney the best. I loved watching him drain the three - big huge linebacker dude with an amazing outside shot. Hope he pulls through it, and the family drama too.
