Crawled Through 5 FB Fields
The guy is a beast. Very entertaining watching him play.
At least it creates something interesting, total melt down of the Seahawks lockerroom.
Carrol probably was just trying to make a point that this was also a QB competition with Flynn and Wilson, but he never expected Wilson to go and do that.
So he pretty much shot himself in the foot. Got this guy they paid up for, and one who out performs him for a fraction of the paycheck.
sound familiar?
I believe they will stick with Flynn as starter just because itd be egg on their face (like we are experiencing) if they acknowldge that the backup is way better than the starter.
In their case, Bodha, and all the buzz they created when they drafted Wilson with such enthusiasm and conviction, I don't think they will think twice about starting him.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about Wilson (other than his exceptional feet and vision---yes vision, despite his size---and his smooth, accurate delivery) is his uncanny ability to assimilate immediately into a new offensive system.
At Wisconsin last year, for example, not only did he learn a command of the offense within a couple of weeks, he assimilated so naturally and well that the players named him a captain.
What I love too about Wilson is he is a guy that had every expectation of coming right in and winning the starting job---and he had the courage to say this right from the get-go.
What I appreciate about the Seahawks is how they have handled Wilson and his development. The fact that Wilson has put himself in the position to start is a testament to the Seattle coaches who are willing to think a little outside of the box and take risks.
I am not a Pete Carroll fan in the least---but he has done more to develop this young man's confidence and cater their offense to his strengths than the ever-uncertain, ultra-skeptical Ken Whisenhunt ever would have done.
