DBACKS DEAL SCHILLING
It looks like Diamondbacks pitcher Curt Schilling is headed to Boston. In a national exclusive, XTRA Sports 910 is reporting that the Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a trade with the Boston Red Sox, in which Schilling would be dealt to Boston for a major league player and prospects. The 37-year-old Schilling, who has a no-trade clause in his contract, will have 72 hours to agree to the deal. Schilling does have the right to veto the trade. Casey Flossum, a 25-year-old left-hander, is expected to be included in the deal.

I read somewhere that D-Backs are only going to get back Sexson. Stupid if you ask me to trade a potential Cy Young winner for a home run/strikeout artist. I was hoping the D-Backs would get a top-notch prospect and a major-laegue ready player for him.

If indeed, he does go to Boston, this might be just the thing they need to be able to get past the Yankees. I am not a Red Sox fan, but I am a giant anti-Yankee fan. I hope Schilling carries the Red Sox to the World Series right through the Yankees.

hey i am a dodgers fan too, what does schilling have against them that he would never play in los angeles. as a former angeleno(long beach) i know the city stinks with its crime and all, could that be the reason the dodgers cannot attract free agents anymore? maybe they need to move to pacific palisades;)

if he had to go anywhere - I'm happy he will be going to a team that will rip out the hearts of the Yankees - but he will be sorely missed and I would have loved to see the team try to make one more run - also - If they get Sexson - isn't he also a FA at the end of the season - are they really willing ti pay him gobs of cash rather than pay Curt gobs of money - that's a bit of a headscratcher for me.

Boy, you musta seen something this fall that the rest of us missed. The Marlins beat the Yankees, so title #27 is still a pipe dream in the Bronx.

My first thought:

SWEET! If he cant play for AZ, and the rumors have been NY all along, its even better to know that they wanted him, and he ended up in Beantown. Death to the Yankees.

Thank you Curt Schilling for an incredible few years!

Yes. They are clearing salary so they don't pay so much next year. They've been real upfront about the fact that they will dump salary this year and next.

He did, but Philly basically only offered a bucket of used balls for him.
