I don't get all the hate for Tebow (other than he's not an NFL quality quarterback). What irritates me is what surrounds Tebow, and by that I mean his religious following who don't know much about football. It's mainly because of them, and the circus that surrounds Tebow wherever he goes, that he hasn't been picked up by another team. Let's be real: any team that needs Tebow or could use him in any capacity is so bad they can't handle the circus that comes with him.

Part of that is his own doing, granted, but plenty, and I mean plenty, of athletes promote themselves more than he does. They have their own reality shows or sign with Jay Z or whatever, and that's okay, but because his following and message is religious in nature everyone gets turned off. I'm not religious, but I don't hold it against him and don't think he's done anything more or worse than most athletes.

That being said, his best landing spot was NE and I'm happy for the dude. His completion % isn't good, and for me anyway, that's one of the most telling stats for a QB--but he makes up for what he lacks by being a leader of men and by winning games. That's something you can't teach. The leader of men part is important--because NE has some of the worst defense against the QB option play in the NFL. They got destroyed by a crappy Miami team a few years back (twice I believe) and have never been able to defend it. Tebow can run the practice squad and come in and play an option QB in practice and TEACH the defense what the offense is doing or wants to do. That's going to become increasingly important with the QB's coming out last year and in the years to come. Ya'll act like he has NO value, and that's not the case. It isn't a wasted roster spot--I'm totally convinced he'll contribute more to the team in his role running/teaching the option than Mallet will holding a clipboard.

There's no hate for the dude, he's just not an NFL caliber player especially as a QB. Good dude, bad NFL player.

I'm still confused as to why the media follows him around & promotes him every second they get when his talent doesn't dictate the coverage.

Btw-Jake Plummer was a leader of men & was ran out of town & barbecued by most fans and media by his play when often he put his teams in bad situations in trying to win games just like Tebow. IMO he had more talent in his pinkie finger as a QB than Tim, but JMHO.

Not confusing at all. The media plays it up with anything Tebow does because it sells papers or gets people to tune in or go online and read or watch videos which results in profit. Bottom line its the dollar that drives this.

Tebow got notoriety while still in college and a camera caught him in the now infamous Tebow pose. People being what they are found this to be different and for some controversial so the media got on the bandwagon and played it for all its worth. Now the media sees it as an opportunity to make money and the good people of these United States play into it. If people didn't pay attention to it, it would go away because there would be no money to be made.

Exactly. Colin Cowheard makes this point everyday in explaining why certain teams and players, especially LaBron James, get so much media attention. It's what the fans buy.

Still no reason for peeps to buy the hype of someone who's a terrible NFL player, cause I along with many others don't. The only reason I'm talking about him is because I'm tired of the hoopla...it's just like the Favre thing...but #4 could actually play the game. I could buy it at Florida, but not in the NFL.

Bucky just because you and I don't buy into it doesn't mean the masses don't. For far too many it allows them to live their lives vicariously through these so called celebrities or athletes and gives them a rush so to speak when they talk about it with others. Juicy news for them. For me and you utter BS. You see people get excited when they talk about this junk. It gives them a thrill. They feed off of it. I for one just don't get it.

If people didn't hunger for this stuff you wouldn't have the E channel or TMZ.

Jets cut Tim Tebow

Knew this was coming. What a difference a year makes.

What ever position he plays or how they use him I hope he finds success. The guy seems like a genuine good guy who gives it all he has and has to put up with the media no matter what he does. He is sort of going through football hell.

Patriots may need help at TE:

Aaron Hernandez's home searched

http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story...and-patriots-questioned-homicide-probe-report

Investigators searched New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez's North Attleboro, Mass., home Tuesday in connection with the death of a man who police said was an associate of Hernandez, ABC News reported.

During the search that lasted hours, two friends of Hernandez who were in the house tried to leave but were stopped by state police at the end of the driveway. Crime scene investigators later searched the car the men attempted to leave in, according to the report.

On Tuesday night, some police officers stood on the front steps of Hernandez's home and others could be seen inside. Some walked around the driveway and in the garage with flashlights. Before wrapping up their work for the night, one officer took a box out of the massive house.

Hernandez has not been named as a suspect, but a rental vehicle with Rhode Island plates was found near the scene, which led investigators to Hernandez, SI.com reported.

Hernandez was initially uncooperative with police after the body of a 27-year-old man was found in an industrial park not far from the Patriots player's home, two law enforcement sources told ABC.
