Face it PSU fans - No one on the offensive side of the ball wants to play for Jopa anymore. My goodness, the guy is over 80 yrs old. Terelle chose OSU because their coaching staff is far superior to Penn State's. Penn State can certainly hold their own from a partying standpoint, but Paterno (and I love the guy) has become a major drag on recruitment.

i love the fact that stout is commenting on the young man's "maturity" . . . while leveling the decision making ability of an 18 year old just b/c his team got jilted. hello kettle? this is pot. you're black.

I was impressed with something he said at his press conference...he said he shuns the spotlight, likes to give the credit to his teammates and also said, "I didn't ask to be the #1 recruit in the country." Sounds like the kid actually has a pretty good sense of the big picture.

What's curious about his decision...and he did admit that he felt awful about turning down Rich Rodriguez...is that Rodriguez's offense is perfect for him. It's wide open and gives the QB all kinds of freedom to use his legs and athleticism. Ohio State's offense, in comparison, is more of a pro style, but it's much more conservative.

And I hope it ruins his life. Fact is, in this game, you have to make the right decisions. I hope he doesn't and it ruins his career.

Sheesh, I'm sure glad my immaturity at 18 didn't ruin my life.

So, just so I can get this straight

Waahhh wahhhh waahhh he chose Ohio St. over my school waaaah waaah waaah waaaah waaaah

That about cover it?

Give me a break, wishing harm upon the kid for not going to a team that has turned crappy and 2nd or 3rd rate over the last few years is pretty darn pathetic. And I could honestly care less about Ohio St., Penn St., or Michigan...this is just sour grapes, time to grow up.

I think there is merit to what you have said.

Several years ago I thought it was time for Paterno to retire. I second guessed my opinion when they hired Galen Hall as offensive coordinator, thought I might have been wrong when the Lions went 11-1 in 2005; and finally have settled into full realization over the past two seasons that I was right all along. JoePa should have retired 4 or 5 years ago or sooner. For all that he has done for and meant to Penn State over the years, he has now become detrimental to the football program.

Sadly, I think Joe will die on the sideline at Beaver Stadium...

Jeez, a bit too fanatical. All I thought he said was that he didn't want to go to Penn St because he didn't like the country aspect.

Plus, him choosing Ohio St is a WAY BETTER football decision than Penn St. It's that simple and I hate Ohio St

I actually commend Pryor for his decision.

He gave up the chance to become an immediate starter at both PSU and Michigan. Turning down UM was especially surprising as he would have been the guy to get that program started for Coach Rod.

All to go to a school where he will have to share time with a senior and have a ACTUAL chance to play in a NC game. Say what you will about OSU the last two years but its a pretty big accomplishment to go to the NC game two years in a row.

And when did Columbus become Las Vegas all of a sudden?

Sorry bud bad as an impartial view point I feel like he made the right choice.

Trust me....Vegas it ain't. Ohio legislators have vetoed gambling for years.

Nowhere did he say anything about partying..

Secondly, your point is what? That you hope he sucks cause he didnt pick your school??

Penn St. is way way way below Ohio St. and Michigan.. why in gods name would he go there when he has superior programs offering him a ship?

You sound like a big baby

Wow, take a venting thread with a lot of laughter and add some sourpusses that like to hurl around insults, and what was fun became personal. To those insulting me, shove it. We were laughing in here until you jerks showed up. To those saying I'm mad because my team was jilted...well of COURSE that's most of it ;) And yes, I'm venting quite a bit. Look, if the kid simply says that he wants to go to Ohio State because he feels it will be the best football move, I mutter and growl but suck it up. Instead, the idiot opens his mouth WHILE WANTING EVERYONE TO GIVE HIM A CLEAN SLATE, and insults my school. Um, yeah, I'm going to get ticked off. All he had to do was keep his stupid mouth shut. Nope, has to have diarhea (sp?) of the mouth instead. Maybe the University of Ohio State can teach him a thing or two about that ;)

Stout, I thought your point was this:

The fact is, he didn't choose Ohio State because it was a better football or scholastic situation. Penn State wasn't enough of a party area for him. It was too 'in the middle of nowhere'. Oh, poor little baby.

If I made the point that he can party anywhere, that is just the opposite of what you said there. I have no more idea what is in this kid's head than you do. I just think it's a big leap to say that because he says Penn State is in the middle of nowhere that he is thinking only of partying. I don't think he's got Columbus Chamber of Commerce brochures in his backpack and Columbus isn't exactly a metropolis either. But, the kid's living in the middle of nowhere now. Maybe he wants to expand a little.

According to his high school football coach, if Tom Bradley was the coach, he would have chosen Penn State. Maybe he didn't want to say JoePa is old as dirt and I'm afraid he'll try to turn me into a linebacker, so he was just being nice by saying it was in the middle of nowhere.

YOU and I know that you can party anywhere; I think this kid is misguided into thinking you can't party at Penn State because it's in the middle of nowhere.

And, just to clarify, I am NOT wishing this kid bodily injury. I am NOT hoping for outside forces to ruin his life. I'm rooting for him to ruin his OWN life, thank you :D Go on, go to Columbus, hit the clubs...hope you have a lot of hangovers, missed practices, and suspensions, kid.

Some of you might be less harsh on Stout if you realize that Ohio State is to a Penn State fan like Cowpukes are to a Cardinals fan...

I'm glad OSU got him but i kind of tired of his act awhile ago.I wouldn't have cared if he wnet somewhere else. I agree i don't think it's too classy to bash the other schools that offered you a chance to go there. He may turn out to be great but he could easliy turn ionto a guy who ruins the program as well.Hopefully his attitude gets reigned in a bit whne he gets on campus. I don't know if there was anything fishy about his recruitment but it wouldn'r surprise me. Any who has been on here a while kows i'm not the biggest Tressel fan in theowrld and he is,in no way, the squeaky clean guy that he portrays to the media.

i know and i don't get it.If you go to WVA or Indiana all you see are Ohio plates in the parking lot.

Downtown Columbus is dead on the weekends. It's not a fun city like Chicago or even Indianapolis. Indy,to me, is one of the more fun cities around.I've never been to State College but i heard it is in the middle of nowhere.

Stout, methinks you're being a lil harsh on the young dude. I thought he sounded real stupid too, but ultimately he's going to college to try to get to the NFL. Would it really matter what his criteria for choosing the school to do that was? It sucks big time, but that's the way it is. Honestly, would you have crapped on him for choosing Penn State over say Oregon because of the same reason?

Of course not, but that's a different matter altogether :D
