I'd say GET HIM! Based on talent alone, he was considered a 1st round pick last year. Might as well since our OLBs are nothing special.

That's how the world works. Talent is hard to find in any field. If your good at something you can get away with a lot more stuff.

One would argue how good at something said player actually is, if he wasn't doing what got him suspended.

But in his case I guess you almost have to feel sorry for him, since the suspension one full year of mediocre play, then an ACL and now a broken leg and torn LCL.

I don't wish those injuries on anybody.

Ironically the time to do that may have been when one of their defensive stars got himself suspended for PED's a couple of years back but they welcomed him back with open arms.

Amazing how team rules don't apply to the good players.
Remember when Jimmy Johnson cut John Roper for sleeping during a team meeting? He was later asked what he would have done if it was Micheal Irvin and he said something to the effect of "Wake him up".

He said it had occurred naturally and yet, miracle of miracles, he hasn't tested positive since.

I don't know much about him but if you read the draft stuff, Mayock outright said some NFL teams literally took him off their board after interviews because they had doubts about the kid. they just didn't think football was important to him, didn't seem like a priority.

The ESPN story makes it sound like Montgomery was quite the slacker

Showed up to both rookie minicamps and training camp out of shape -- inactive all games this season.

This is where PP and Mathieu come in handy. Ask them about him and if they think they can bring him along. We need OLB's so why not bring him in.

No way. Surprised people are even mentioning it. Sam Montgomery was considered to be part of the bad crowd at LSU that smoked pot, spice and other drugs. I agree he has NFL talent, but sometimes that isn't everything. Now caught smoking pot in the NFL, that is a horrible sign. We picked Honey Badger to get away from this crowd, why would we bring that same crowd to AZ? It would definitely be a huge shift in the future direction for this team.

He wouldn't even workout with the team and lost respect of his conditioning coach at LSU.
