The Mavs lost again, 87 - 95, our chance for playoff has increased a little bit. They are sitting at 41W - 28L. We are 37W - 31L, 4 less wins and 3 more losses. We need a winning streak to close in.

LOL yeah hope Indiana can crush them in back to back.
If we win against the Wizards then we can cut it to 2.5 games.
not really update with the pacers, but is granger playing again? HE needs to be huge to beat the Mavs.

Fact is if we can just keep winning we could put alot of pressure on Dallas and lets not assume they won't choke it away. This team is full of vets and if we can get into the playoffs playing well no telling what could happen. We do know there is not a chance in hell we win the lottery so the more Suns bball we can watch the better, since Gentry took over this team has been fun to watch again.

Um, a championship IS all that matters. And since we're not winning one anytime soon, we can watch the team build itself up again from the bottom up starting next year.

But make no mistake--no championship is an unacceptable result.

^ Thats nonsense I would much rather watch fun entertaining Suns basketball than Spurs like crap. Some people just don't grasp its ENTERTAINMENT for fans it doesn't affect my paycheck either way except I won't pay to watch crap! And say what you will but Phoenix fans are a fickle bunch if their is not an entertaining product on the floor the fans won't show which equals $$$$$$ lost, which in turn equals bad teams with low salarys. I don't live and die by the Suns winning a championship if it happens great I want to see entertaining basketball period.

Pity they won in Indiana by 2 points in a back to back set. Our task to catch them is as tough as it gets.

I saw that, too... 'twould have been a real break for us if Indy could have won that game. We have to beat the Wiz to keep the pressure on them... hope our guys are ready to go in that one - if they mail it in because Wash sucks and is playing the second of a b2b they could well get a nasty surprise.

I am going to have to agree with Chaplin on this one. If a championship isn't the goal than that's not acceptable. The Spurs are more of an exception than the rule. The Spurs are an extremely boring brand of basketball, but that doesn't mean all championship teams are boring. The Celtics last year weren't boring, the Lakers (though I hate them) are not boring and they are contenders, the Jordan era Bulls aren't boring.

Don't get me wrong, I have had a blast watching this Suns team over the past few years, but getting ousted repeatedly in the first couple rounds of the playoffs isn't entertaining to me.

You're obviously very young. Spout off this garbage to someone that's followed the Suns for 40 years.

We all want to enjoy the game, but without winning a championship what's the point?

Exactly. You think Spurs fans would trade their championships for a brand of basketball that's entertaining during the regular season but never produces anything?

To each his own Chap I have followed the Suns since 88 and while I would like them to win a championship its not the end all for me. I like sports and watch for entertainment purposes and personally unless the Suns were playing the Spurs I would NEVER watch that crap the same thing with the Celtics who foul the hell out of people and the refs let it go because their supposed great defense! If they called the playoffs with objectivity instead of reputation we would have seen different results. I watch for entertainment and the Suns are entertaining tell me a team that has been more entertaining the last 5 years?

Not flashy is not the same as boring. Spurs ball is not flashy but an enjoyment to watch if you appreciate the deeper, strategic aspects of the game, beyond flashy dunks and scores. Defense is an art! Any successful team has something great with them, for the keen eyes to detect. I hate Spurs because they are our enemy with the dirtiest and floppiest player in the whole NBA on that team, but definitely appreciate their style under Pop.

Not flashy is not the same as boring, but you can be both and still be good. Spurs ball is not flashy but an enjoyment to watch if you appreciate whining, flopping, complaining and the demure aspects of the game, beyond flashy dunks and scores. Defense is an art which they have turned into an embarrassing display of "how much can I get away with since there is no penalty for acting"! Any successful team has something great with them, for the keen eyes to detect. I hate Spurs because they are our enemy with the dirtiest and floppiest player in the whole NBA on that team, but definitely appreciate their style under Pop, because I have no honor, just like them.

Young has nothing to do with it. I've been a Suns fans since the early 80's, and am with Nashman on this one. I like run and gun and hate the type of ball it takes to 'win' in the playoffs these days. I know fans who have been die-hards for the team since '69 who feel the same way.

Some folks derive more pleasure watching a great team play entertaining, fast-break basketball that follows the rules and wins in the regular season vs a boring, slow, thug team that wins in the post-season when the rules are called differently.

Vice-versa, some fans are tired of losing and want a title no matter what it takes.

The point is, there are both types of fans among the old-timers and the new-to-the-team crowds. It does not equate to how long one has been a fan.

Game. Set. Match.

Give me boring with a few rings on the finger versus exciting and ZERO. Look at our history. We have had enough of exciting basketball that produces zero titles.

I'm not ready to cheer for players like Bowen, Manu, Horry. Even dislike Duncan because of his who me attitude, and Parker pansy fall down faker.

The hollow BSS(Bullsh!t Stern) championship award goes to: Not Me, Spaz and Fugly.

That's not the point. These guys are talking about preferring watching an up-tempo team that's great in the regular season but stinks in the playoffs. And that's ok? Come on now. What's the point in wanting a team to win if it's not to get to that ultimate goal??
