Ok so let's expand on this your brother gained 90 pounds of muscle during that time? Was your brother the son of an NFL legend and the nephew of another NFL legend? Why is that relevant, you don't think young Clay had access to nutrition and training beyond what the normal kid his age gets? You don't think his dad and uncle gave him tips on nutrition, weight training, exercise regimens etc?

That's what makes the whole thing so preposterous, I can see a kid who had never had access to that sort of thing and then in 5 years of college he gets bigger and stronger because of it but Clay is not that kid, he had access to that stuff growing up.

What Clay got access to at USC was the same thing Cushing did and yes they're very good friends and workout buddies. Would it surprise me if Taylor Mays used too, of course not, I like the kid alot people here will tell you I was one of the people touting him. But he too is the son of an NFL player and he's the perfect counter to your Clay comments, he came into USC chiselled of granite and was an instant impact start. Early bloomer maybe, but it didn't hurt he had access to training and nutrition that most kids his age don't get.

He's a great player, he may never test positive, many don't, but if you polled NFL players and asked them who are the 10 biggest PED users I bet he's rated top 5.

You can't even get past Clay Matth in google without it offering up steroids as one of the options, because there are so many rumors around him and have been for 3-4 years now.

Bitterness at it's finest....or, not so fine, so...who is lacking in character? Which one is proven without doubt?

Let us focus on our own players, they aren't the ones who earned the Lombardi Trophy...if they did, I guarantee there would be the same trash spoken by other fanbases that is displayed here.

All that said, it would be nice to pick up Casey Matthews. Family history does show that he will be a hard worker and at least serviceable. Not a bad college career.

Actually I agree, I cited him awhile ago as one of the kids I'd like to get later in the draft. I love his teammate Maehl too.

If you've ever taken a helmet hit to the elbow, you know that it can cause your arm to go momentarily numb; i.e. cause a fumble. Matthew's helmet appears to hit Mendenhall's elbow, causing the fumble.

As for the PED conversation, I'd rather go fishing! :)

For the record the day they announced Cushing had been caught I said I wonder how long before they catch Matthews. the first game the packers were on National TV this year I said the only difference between him and Cushing is Cushing got caught. So this isn't something I just came up with because they won the SuperBowl. I wanted them to win, I'm a big Aaron Rodgers fan.

is it even possible to prove someone is using PED's without a doubt? I mean every athlete that tests positive has the same excuses, either the sample was tampered with, or it must have been the supplement I am taking. or the occasional whack job ones like it's my unborn fraternal twin(actually used in cycling).

Cushing's excuse was pretty creative too, it's been totally discredited by everyone except the "expert" that he's paying but hey. Merriman used the tainted supplement one, so did the 2 Vikings players.

Switch sports OJ Mayo is using the tainted supplement one.

For a couple of years Lance Armstrong vehemently insisted Floyd Landis was innocent, now they hate each other and Lance insists Landis is a complete liar and always has been, except I assume when Lance was defending him?

So you'll excuse me if I don't give the benefit of the doubt when someone goes turns into HeMan and yet claims it's just genetics kicking in. Especially when on examines the recent history at the school he was at where 2 of the players, the Ting brothers, "decided to quit" coincidentally when one of them tested positive for steroids. Also coincidentally their dad, an orthopedic surgeon in the Bay Area, was called to testify in the Balco trial because he was Barry Bonds personal surgeon. Didn't take long for rumors to surface that the Tings may have been funneling steroids to others on the team. Both Clay and "Cush" were on the team then so is it really so hard to understand why most non USC fans believe the rumors?

You must take care then...the Matthews family are a very close knit clan, if Clay uses, then the assumption is that Casey does as well...since Dad and Uncle Bruce were hands on fathers and coaches.

I personally believe that the Claymaker does HGH in season and Steroids out of it and I believe that a lot of people in Green Bay know it like they know a lot of stuff about the team: Brett had a bastard child, Ted Thompson is gay, Chris Jacke getting released for dating Mike Holmgren's daughter. Favre, Winters, and Bebe being out until 5 AM of the day we lost the SB to the Broncos. GB knows almost too much about the team but they do a good job of keeping it out of the media.

Who uses the term "bastard child" anymore? Was is it the 1800's?

The Favre Holmgren years were ridiculous. Favre's infidelity, alcholism, and perscription painkiller addiction was all aired to the people of Green Bay. The fact that they were willing to put up with all of that for him and then he turns around and takes a crap on their front lawn is one of the reasons that Favre is my second least favorite player behind Chumura.

There are still a couple of grainy videos of Favre and various bar skanks "drinking" at parties when he was married.

No nudity but if a Mod thinks it's inappropriate I understand.

That's just silly, look at Casey, he's got a totally different build than Clay does, he's 25 pounds lighter at his listed weight and I don't even think he's as heavy as he's listed. I remember during the Cal game they commented that he has trouble maintaining weight during the season and was closer to 225 than 235.

A skeptic would say Casey looks like what Clay would look like without modern science.
