OT: There was a reason Robert Quinn was considered a potential #1 overall pick.

Quinn was the guy back in 2011 that early on in the draft process was considered a legit #1 overall option for Carolina. Mike Lombardi and Mike Mayock both said Quinn was potentially the best player in the draft.

Then the Combine came and went and everyone started picking apart his game and he slid.

As much as I love PP21, Quinn was my choice for the Big Red's #5 pick back in 2011.

and you posted this why?? Is Quinn somehow now far superior to Peterson?? Does he have 20 picks on the season....25 sacks?? 30 touchdowns? averaging 20 yds per carry, 30 yds per catch and 50 yds per return?? Is he on pace to pass for 8000 yds and 90 TD's??

Agree on Quinn. Many here were high on him and he is becoming a force. We could sure use him but I am thrilled with PP.

1. It's WAY easier to find an elite pass rusher than an elite CB.

2. Changing schemes to adjust for the lack of a good pass rusher is much easier than to compensate for the lack of an Elite CB.

PP21 was the right choice.

He's having a nice season for sure but Seattle is playing a backup at LT and we were playing Levi, the rest of the NFL he's been good to very good, against those 2 teams he's been awesome.

I'd take PP but Quinn can play

he is a really nice player, who likely got drafted right where he should have been

Quinn, IIRC, had some relatively small character concerns coming out ---

its easy to say now that he appears to have put those behind him that he was worth the pick, but then.........

I thought sweezy played RG.

Quinn is,and was a good prospect. Many are trying to pick apart Clowney like they did Quinn and questioning him because he supposedly takes plays off. Give me either, or both of them any day.

I know i was blasted for wanting him. I wanted him OVER Peterson and Von Miller.

I would love to have Robert Quinn. I don't care that he isn't a prototypical 3-4 OLB, the dude would be an animal on our defense.

Clowney doesn't take plays off. That's garbage.

He just doesn't blow up every play like people expect and his numbers are down this year. Even the best defenders don't get the kind of attention in the NFL that Clowney is getting. I think he'll be a better NFL player than college player.

I watch South Carolina regardless of Clowney or not. Oh and RB Mike Davis is a beast; he's going to be a very NFL back if he can stay healthy.

I watch South Carolina a lot too, if only to see the Ol' Ball Coach throw his visor.

Ol' Ball Coach calls a frustrating game. If only he would realize that South Carolina is at it's best as a power running team and quit with the spread crap. Mike Davis, Wilds, and Carson are a nice running back tandem.

Mike Davis probably the least talked about prospect in the nation. He runs like Emmitt Smith did, but he's actually a bit bigger than Smith was.

Davis is a power back with speed. My only knock on him so far is that he's fumbled a few times and he may have issues staying healthy. But wow what a beast.

He does. He was filling in at LT.
