ASHBURN, Va. -- It took Troy Vincent less than a week to find a new team.
Four days after being released by the Buffalo Bills, the veteran defensive back signed with the Washington Redskins on Monday.
Terms were not disclosed.
A 15-year veteran, Vincent was released by Buffalo on Thursday. The five-time Pro Bowler played in the season opener with the Bills before being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
Vincent spent a majority of his career as a cornerback, but in Buffalo he made the transition to free safety.
In Washington, Vincent is expected to be used in nickel packages at safety, and possibly cornerback.
Selected by Miami seventh overall in the 1992 draft, Vincent spent four seasons with the Dolphins before signing with Philadelphia in 1996. The Wisconsin product played eight seasons with the Eagles before signing with Buffalo in 2004.
Vincent, 35, had a career-high 102 tackles and four interceptions in 2005 but had just one tackle in the opener against the Patriots.
To make room for Vincent on the roster, the Redskins released safety Curry Burns.
