Many people agree pre season games are not necessarily indicators of a teams regular season. So now Week 1 schedule is complete. Fan's often over react to week 1 performances.

A few of my personal nominees for over reaction;

1. Sam Darnold is the real deal and HOF bound.
2. NFL defenses caught up to De Shaun Watson
3. Khalil Mack will be D POY
4. Cowboys will not make playoffs and Dak Prescott is flawed

5. etc

Got any ?????????????

The Cardinals will get the first overall. I think everyone forgot last year's season opener. That was worse.

Jason Witten was saying on Monday Night that the first few weeks are the real pre-season for good teams because they want to get through September healthy. Perhaps the Cards were counting themselves among that group?

Maybe, with a new set of coaches, the first-team offense should have played a lot more in pre-season, minus DJ and possibly Fitz.

As for overreactions, the Bears fans had their overreaction and realization all in the span of their first game. :D

If the Cards can at least look respectable Sunday I’ll have hope for the future, throwing Rosen in the third game of the season makes no sense whatsoever, never been a big Sam fan but leave us at least give him a chance guys.

Team should've definitely played more in the preseason based on the performance they gave Week 1.

Three and 4 have a richer data set than 1 week to support it.

We were within 1 score into the 4th quarter of the Lions game last year—and it was on the road. What nonsense.

first off.... Sam Darnold is the real deal... been sayin it for over a year....of course that has no bearing on the H.o.F....give the kid time to change his game skivvies first

matt patricia...didnt want him then and dont want him now.... he stressed details, details, details... but apparently forgot to coach fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals....or teach his team plays, plays, plays...he may grow into being a HC but right now he just looks like a fat kid trying to act like Bill Billichek

Jon Gruden is back!!... oh wait,...that isnt really an over reacton...even though the rams thumped the raiders it was obvious gruden still has what it takes to coach in the nfl...personnel decisions will be his rise or fall in this run with the raiders I think.

the only cardinals related over reaction I can think of...is those fans who so quickly jumped on the " its just one game, give them time to gel" bandwagon... I know its a knee-jerk self preservation type reaction,...nobody really wants to believe what they actually saw on the field.... it looks like the redbirds are taking the season off and Mikey B paid Mesa Mountainview to suit up for him instead.

Darnold the real deal after week 1 is premature, I think rosen he is a better thrower, sure darnold has some favre skills especially being able to move and make people miss in the pocket
Btw with our offensive coordinator I prefer sitting him the whole year

Sounds like a bunch of whiney and lazy players they have over there in Detroit.

Patricia came from the Bellichek coaching tree and is trying to establish a culture there.
That culture has to be earned and isn't a given. This is why so many coaches from the Belichick tree fail. Bill can rip everyone because Tom bought in on that type of hard coaching. Bill was able to cut loose and trade solid vets because he won rings. These coaches like Patricia want to come in and have that credibility, and they don't. You have to earn it first, then you can do New England type things.

Overreaction? People picking up Ryan Fitzpatrick in fantasy. Just because he has one good game doesn't make him Peyton Manning.

And there's never been a Belichick coach who was ever successful as a head coach. In fact, they've basically been miserable failures. Unlike Bill Walsh who has had several coaches go onto success as head coaches.

Surrounded by Rams and Chargers
1. We suck
2. Our LBs suck
3. Our WRs other than Fitz suck
4. Our DL suck
5. Our OL suck
6. Our rookie HC who has never been a head coach before sucks
7. Our OC sucks
8. The 4-3 sucks
9. Our GM sucks, his fantasy football team is currently 8th place out of 10.
10. After the 1st week of the season we’re looking forward to the draft.

Patricia will be fired by week 2. He has already lost the locker room. j/k

It doesn't sound like he is going to be in Detroit for very long.

He follows Jim Caldwell who seems to be the most uninspiring HC in history of NFL.

Lions D is that bad
Jets O is that good
Cardinals have a shot in hell - the 'relax' they're still learning and they'll be fine attitude on this board - they're gonna get killed Sunday. I'll be shocked if I'm still watching it after halftime. I'm willing to bet the Rams D has more points than the Cardinals Offense.

negative talk on Hopkins - it's a joke

wha? We had the lead in the fourth quarter on the road last year.

I guess maybe last year seemed worse because we also lost DJ, but we still had some people we kinda believed at that point and a coach who some were starting to question, but still had a mostly impressive track record.

Let's just hope that the Redskins are legit contenders this season. Their OL is great, but has been injured in recent years. Finally healthy, they are a top 3 unit. Their defense is sneaky and underrated. They've invested a lot of high draft picks in recent years in their front. No stars, but overall a strong unit with well above average starters. They have experience in the secondary and play the zone defense perfectly, lead by Norman and Swearinger.

So maybe we aren't really that bad. New coaches, new schemes, new players - it was always gonna take some time. Redskins were a well oiled machine and made a seemless transition from Cousins to Smith, while everything else was in place.

Oh boy you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. The cardinals just sucked ass. It’s not like the redskins were making superhuman plays or were close to being contenders in the past.

The SIRIUS guys are making the case that Washington (led by A Smith) is underrated.
