The guys looks is playing like he's aged 10 years since last season! He looks incredibly slow. No quickness. No burst. No energy at all...
He had just 2 points after the first quarter last night! I feel like I'm watching some other guy who just got picked up off a D-league team!

Seriously - is he hurt? Is he sick? Or, is this some type of grand charade cooked up by Lebron & Co., where, after putting up a dreadful first half, the King finds the fountain of youth and leads the Cavs to a record-breaking 2nd half and post-season run??

Very strange to see...

In another few weeks, I expect the narrative to be that his teammates aren't good enough, which has been his alibi his entire career.

He lost alot of weight in the off-season. Sometimes loosing alot of weight fast depletes muscle mass.

Kyrie and Waiters. Lebron has a lot of faults, selfishness on the court isn't one of them and now he's paired with two of the more selfish players in the league. Just a guess.

First of all, it's pre-season. Secondly, Lebron and the Meat was out of shape last year, Lebron has really been focusing on this. This is all my opinion, and it's an opinion of a well documented Lebron hater. Thirdies, Lebron just got whooped by a team that played team ball, which meant it didn't matter how good Lebron was as a player.

Nobody on the Spurs are as good as Lebron is. Spurs are getting old, they may continue to compete but the roster will be looking at some serious turnover. Lebron couldn't have beaten them next year if he was with Miami or Ohio/Cleveland.

What Lebron learned was pretty impressive if I think I got it right. He's not going to score 24 in a quarter, one player shouldn't have to in today's game. He is going to grow his own team, he has time to collect some rings if it goes right, and he has plenty of time. He wants to make the Spurs team thing happen with the Cavs, and he has time to do it, aint no real teams out there. Suns are young too but Lebron can groom a team and replace parts later after the gelling is done.

If I was Lebron I would roll the same way. Let the team get better, playing together, and than add the spark like Jordan did. Jordan knew it was a team game, Spurs did too. I don't think Lebron plans on a ring this year, I think he wants to build the best long term team, coach included, because he is running stuff there now. That's why he and the Owner can co-exist.

Miami relied on talent, and not team play. That's why the Spurs coach is a genius.

They'll be fine, they've got a lot of new parts and some big egos that need to make adjustments. His first month in Miami the Heat were basically a .500 team and that team had a lot more experience than this one does.

They also need to get rid of Waiters ASAP. The guy is absurdly overrated and a cancer.

Kyrie Irving is even more overrated.

They are not going to win anything with Irving and Waiters.

Irving is really crappy re-incarnation of Allen Iverson. All he can do is chuck.

This thread is not about the Cavs... it's about James. Of course we knew the Cavs were going to struggle. However, IMHO, James looks like a completely different person/player. As I mentioned, physically, he is nothing like the James from last year or any other previous year. Watch him move and run... he looks like his feet are stuck in cement!

He's proving a point IMO. Letting them jack up terrible shots and coasting a little until they realize that they need to play his way.

Passive aggressive. But that's what I think is happening.

Irving had 23 shots and 0 assists against Utah. That should never happen with a point guard playing with LeBron. Six assists for the team as a whole is dreadful.

I don't. I'm pretty sure we can't trade Bledsoe and they can't trade Irving. But even if they were tradable during this season, it would be a horrible deal for us. 90 million for a point guard that IMO is not as good as Isaiah Thomas.

His no carb diet might have something to do with his lack of energy.

Haha, this is a bit of a sidebar, but here's a quote from LeBron about his diet, from over the summer:

"I had no sugars, no dairy, I had no carbs. All I ate was meat, fish, veggies and fruit. That's it. For 67 straight days."

He named 4 food groups, and half of them are like 95% carbs. Some veggies have a little bit of protein, but they're mostly carbohydrates. And fruit is sugar and fiber - both carbs. However, if it ever comes out that he was taking tons of PEDs in Miami, at least he's building his case for the argument that he didn't know what his trainers were giving him. If he didn't know what was in a strawberry, maybe he didn't know what was in those syringes! :mulli:

In any case, he says he was only dieting for a couple months, and that was a few months ago. I don't really see how a summer diet would explain why it looks like he's playing basketball in sludge in mid-fall.

I'm sure some of it is the weight loss but look at the entire team shooting wise, the key guys are all shooting poorly. Combination of learning to play together, and learning to play with a PG that won't give up the ball unless he's forced to.

Love is off to a bad start too, he too lost weight this summer.
