I'm not sure, but didn't Claxton get a fairly large deal from GS to be their starter. I might be inclined to agree Claxton might be a better fit though. The proposed trade would be perfect for the Suns. We get a back-up PG and C, both of which we desperately need and a good draft pick for the future.

IIRC he makes about 3 million. Also, he wasn't given the deal by NO - he was given it by Golden State. New Orleans got him when they traded Davis.

Chris Paul is their new starting PG.

That is what I said, Golden State (GS).

No problem.

3 mil a year is actually quite reasonable especially for Speedy.

I thought he had a stellar playoffs with the Spurs prior to his signing with GS. Wasn't that the year we lost the first round 2-4 due to Stephen's shoulder injury?

Yep. The only problem with him is the injury bug seems to love him.

Dickau would have to be re-signed. How much would it cost to do that? The nice thing about Claxton is that he seems good at creating shots for his teammates. Last season he averaged about six assists in 30 minutes per game with a 3 assist-to-turnover ratio. In about the same time Dickau averaged about 5 assists per game with a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Dickau did have two great months during the middle of last season (December, January). During those months he shot about 45% from the field and 43% from three-point land. My guess is that in the Phoenix Suns system he could put up some nine shooting numbers.

To be honest nothing in New Orleans really gets me that excited. Claxton and Rasual Butler each only have one year left on their contracts. I like each of them. I wouldn't mind to Dickau for the right price (certainly no more than $3 million per season). I like Chris Andersen, but I don't think he could be acquired until the middle of next season. Ultimately I would want at least one draft pick with limited protection.
