It would be great that our team wouldn't have to travel (2 less games) as much but I am not sure the field would hold up to that many games.

If it’s the Niners, they have a Thursday night game week 9 and we have a home game that Sunday. That’s a recipe to thrash the field.

Fine with it, helps destroy the 49ers season and gives the Cards more home games lol.

It will be awesome for the 49ers to not have there fans!

They'll have fans. The Valley has a good amount of fans and expect some to travel to games.

I go to the Cards 49ers game in Santa Clara every year, it wont be near the same, there is a sh#t load of 49er fans in that stadium, since they are winning. It will be a huge drop off, from sound and false starts

Seems more likely that they swap home games with the Niners. That’s puts both California games at the end of December. They likely allow them with no fans in the stands unless there’s a vaccine by then.

PFT was going over this, this morning. Basically, the schedule lines up like this:

Week 1: NFL is adamant about getting it going..that's why all of the crazy good matchups the 1st week. Then they will reassess the ramifications: fans, media, political, medical, etc...

Weeks 2-4 can easily be cancelled/rescheduled: Week 2 opponents all share the same Bye and I believe Weeks 3 and 4 are non-conference. Basically gives the NFL 3 weeks to adjust, without games, if Week 1 blows up in their face.

Personally I think they have contingencies on top of contingencies in place.

As for stadium sharing...I don't care. PFT has been talking about his for a few weeks...Niners/Cards in Phx...Raiders/Chargers and possibly Rams in Vegas...Cowboys/Broncos and possibly Rams, I think, in Dallas. Again, the schedules are all laid out to get stadium sharing done, while keeping teams fairly regional.

if its the niners we will get a extra home game essentiallty.

Yup. If we get to play the 49ers home and home, instead of home and away. I would do it.

I could see them changing the schedule so we play SF at home week 1 and then away in week 12 or whatever it is.

Hard to do that because the way CA is rolling out its phased opening strategy is giving us only a week or two in advance to prepare, and it's difficult to plan for the potential second wave of COVID-19. They'd either have to give AZ the extra home game or would need to add a contingency. Easier for everyone if they just played the game in AZ.

I think they’ll get enough notice to swap week one. After that it’s just a matter of what late December looks like.

Keep this in mind, I'm basically going to pretend it's the same thing, since Vegas is another of the locations mentioned, and the report comes from my city's paper.

I'm only for it if the games are played with essentially no fans. Glendale is one thing... there's a ton of distance in the area. The stadium in LV is packed in, and has no parking options. Everyone needs to be bussed in/rideshared in/tailgate at the casinos.

Otherwise, no, barring great advances that LV or AZ have made over California.
