Has any noticed the poor tackling? ST has also hurt us today. I hope they get it together before they go to Detroit.

yea, it really killed us,
We'd better snap out of this 3-0 slump or the Lions will kill us.

First of all the defense generally played a pretty darn good game, especially the front-line players.
They held the running game in check. Final stats were something like 22 rushes for 97 yards, and most of that was Forsey in the 4th quarter. Take away his one 29 yd run and you have 67 yds total rushing. I don't care if there were a few missed tackles, there always will be, in any game. All you can hope for is to keep them to a minimum and the Cards, especially the starting unit did do that.
1616 lately seems more interested in being a Cheesy wannabe than anything else, with his posts.
As for the special teams, I think there was improvement there as far as the kickoff coverage. One of the reasons being that Duncan got a kickoff into the endzone that was a touchback. Now that's the way to instantly improve special teams coverage on kickoffs. We need more of that,
Grammatica's kickoffs continued to come down, like clockwork about the 3 yd line, but at least the run backs didn't get much beyond the 20, which like I say, was an improvement.
Right now I think I'd have to give the nod to Duncan as the kicker, as his accuracy has seemed fine so far too.
I think Wild Card fairly accurately described the kickoff return situation with McCaddley. Some of the final roster cuts are going to be tough, and last night was very likely used to further evaluate both who the leading returner candidate is AND what McAddley's contribution is likely to be.

It sounded like the secondary had to make many stops when the LB's missed tackles. I heard eason's name called many times on tackles that could have happened before they were. I dont want anyone to get the wrong impression i am just saying that the tackling was not as crisp as it should be.
If you look at the game stats and gamebook/play by play you will see that in the first half, literally all the tackles on running plays were made by defensive linemen, NOT linebackers and secondary. This is a huge change. Yes late in the game (when Eason was playing) there were more tackles being made in the secondary, but some of that was because of passing plays too, not just runs.
Tango you are amazing, simply amazing.

I don't think the original post wasn't off base at all...but the doom and gloom title "Our Downfall" after an extremely impressive win by the Cards was a little much...if it would have been named "Great win, but dammit we need to improve on ST and Coverage" I would think everyone here would agree whole heartily....but just my 2 cents..
