From the pic it looked like the decorative square cement blocks...not load bearing...they will have it fixed, I figure a couple hours cleanup and prolly a days work for a couple masons.

I was walking downstairs under the stadium on my way back up to watch the rest of the motorcross, and got to see it from the back side it goes all the way through, and there is more damage then just the decorative bricks, they hit some piping in there as well and overheard one of the pipes was a gas pipe where they had to shut the gas down to that area. So I think it may take a little while to complete the work .

1. Motocross ALWAYS sells out, you should go it is Great!

2. Motocross is ALWAYS at Chase Field (formally known as BoB) so if your seats in Glendale are dusty....that would be pretty interesting.

Your #2 comment is so asinine, so I took the time to actually look it up.

It would have been funny if after the truck crashed through the wall it revealed a completely unfinished interior to the stadium.

I would have been real funny if the truck has crashed in the wall to reveal a small hidden room where Dennis Green was eating hundreds of cheesedogs.

Smalltime perhaps, but still very dusty.

Just as a clarification.

Supercross is only held in a football/baseball size stadium (open or domed stadium), with exception to the Daytona Race.

Areancross is only held in a basketball/hockey size arena, and yes it is mostly made up of amatuers and dudes that can't ride on the edge of death for more than a lap.

Motocross is only held outdoors on mostly natural terrain. (Other than man made jumps, whoops and berms)

The United States, as a whole is considered the fastest country in the world on a dirtbike.

Next month the U.S. is sending Ricky Carmichael, James "Bubba" Stewart and Ryan Villopoto to England to defend the Motocross de Nations title that Ricky and company returned to the U.S. last year. A win this year would put the U.S. ahead as the all time leader of MdN championships. It is esentially the World Cup of MX, that over 100,000 witness live over a weekend (think Mardi Gras)

Anyways, my point of this is that a little bit of dust isn't such a bad thing when considering how many other country's we are pissing off by beating them senseless in yet another sport. ;)

Have you seen THIS article?:

Fans ridicule monster truck show at stadium

Apparently, the sound system still sucks. Man, they need to get that worked out...

Apparently so does the traffic. In that article they say that 35,000 people attended (roughly half of what is there for a Cardinals game), and that they kept pushing back the start time of the event so the people trying to get into the stadium...could. :bang:

Man I hope they figure something out. At least the article didn't have any mentioning that the stadium concessions ran out of beer or water. lol ;)

Actually if it is any comfort, the problem wasn't the parking, a large portion of tickets ended up at the will call window for some reason and they were having issues with that which was holding up the entrance for alot of people. Since almost all the Cards tickets are in Cards fans, this shouldn't be an issue for us.

Thanks for the explanation. As usual, the media cites a problem and enjoys quoting people who are complaining, but fails to spend a little time to explain why something occurs.

Conspiracy theorists debunk the story that the hole was caused by a monster truck vehicle.

They find it too much of a coincidence that James Hodgins just happened to come off the PUP list at precisely the same time.

Crash at Cards' stadium not a monster deal
http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=72772
By Jerry Brown, Tribune
August 29, 2006

Earlier this month, the Arizona Cardinals cut the ribbon on their new 63,000-seat palace. But Saturday night, during a monster truck event, the stadium was christened in a different way.

An out-of-control truck veered off the dirt track and crashed into a wall at the north end of Cardinals Stadium — turning about two dozen cinder blocks into rubble in front of section 122 at the $455 million building.

Scott Norton, director of marketing and sales for Global Spectrum — a management company hired by the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority — said the wall, which is about 7 or 8 feet high, was hit by both the chassis and a large tire of the truck, which took out blocks in two different areas. Norton said the wall is mostly cosmetic and covers a storage area under section 122.

"No one was hurt and the damage was minimal," said Norton, who refused to estimate the cost of repair other than to say it was in the low thousands. "We don't let anyone sit in the first five rows of any section at shows such as this, for just such reasons.

"The lower bowl sits on cement rackers and the support beams for those sections are much further back. The structure is fine."

Norton said the monster truck promoters, Amp Live of Scottsdale, carry insurance for each performance and will be picking up the four-figure tab for repairs.

Norton said a temporary wall will be in place in time for Thursday's Broncos-Cardinals game, and fans seated in the affected section will be able to take in the game without any problem. "It will be covered up before the game, and then afterward we'll have some time to restore the wall as it was before," Norton said.

A spokesman for the Cardinals said the team had no comment on the incident, referring all questions to Global Spectrum.
