Lincoln Hawk (Stallone) is a struggling trucker who's trying to rebuild his life. After the death of his wife, he tries to make amends with his son who he left behind years earlier. Upon their first meeting, his son doesn't think too highly of him until he enters the nation-wide arm wrestling competition in Las Vegas.

Thoughts?

:)

one of the single greatest movies of all time... I mean, it had Terry Funk as the msucle to Robert Loggia's SOB Grand-dad!

Not to mention Kenny Loggin's seminal "Meet Me Halfway" ballad.

Ah, Movie-a-Day... What memories...

It's been over 4 years since we did those! Doesn't seem that long, maybe because we talk about movies so much regularly anyway. Wonder if there is any interest in reviving it? I know I'd be interesting in seeing 5 movies picked from cheese and Steve... ;)

ha, two years later and it's like i copied my post from that thread verbatim:

"any movie where former WWF wrestler Terry Funk is one of Loggia's henchmen who gets his ass kicked and thrown through a window is top-notch in my book."

I was like 8 years old when this movie came out. I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. I was too young to see the cheezyness. Yes indeed, the memories.

"The world meets nobody halfway."

Thats a great quote that I find I remind myself of often.

"when I turn my hat around I become like... truck".

that's a great quote that I find I remind myself of often... as should everyone else.

I remember that this was big in my home town of Petaluma, Ca. It's where they started the World's Wristwrestling Championship back in the 1950s.

I don't think I've ever seen the movie though. I just remember the trailer showing Stallone working out his arm while driving his truck.
