They had a little blip on NFL Total Access last night about how stout the Green Bay defense has been in the first two preseason games. Basically the piece said that despite installing a new 3-4 defense, they have been very aggressive. It will be interesting to see how the Cardinals first-team offense does against the Packers first unit defense. This is the third preseason game. Let's see if the first unit can actually score a touchdown. :p

The Packers have looked good, so far...Aaron Rogers is slinging the ball nicely and that defense is very aggressive.

I'm not sure how typical of a 3rd preseason game this might be since we'll play the Packers again in the regular season. Both coaches might be more worried about not showing too much of thier schemes than trying to win this game.

I don't know if that applies to this game because it is so long between games. I would think that neither team will be the same in January as they are now.

The perception at least is that the Packers are loaded.

Should be a good test to see who (and how far along) we are.

They have a good offense (passing and running--very balanced)...but even though their D has been tough in the pre-season, I'm not buying it yet. At least early in the regular season I think they'll struggle against good offenses.

The last time we played a tough team in the 3rd preseason game and then played them in the regular season as well was the Bears MNF game in '06 season. :shudders: Atleast we beat them in the preseason game. :)

We also played Chicago in PSG #3 and then again in the regular season in 2003. That regular season game wasn't pretty either.

Neither was the repeat game vs Dallas in 2005 or vs Denver in 2006.

Thank you Ken Whisenhunt.

Didn't we have a return engagement with the Stealers in 2007 which went a little better?

Honestly I watched the last game and they couldn't stop anybody on the ground. However, their pass rush was impressive.

Dont care what happens in this game besides injuries, I just like the fact that we are playing four "3-4" teams in a row. Great way to get ready for the 1st game of the year who is also a 3-4 team.

No. The Cards played the Steelers in pre season in 2006 in the first game ever at the new stadium but not in 2007 when the two met in the regular season.

2007: Raiders,Texans,Chargers,Broncos
