Cheese: Did OJ Simpson kill Nicole and get away with it? Do you have an opinion on this or are you content to believe the justice system worked properly in this case?
Yes, I do think that OJ got away with it, but that's only after seeing what happened at the actual trial Skkorp - here, we haven't even gone to trial yet, so the justice system has only just begun, thus I can't say one way or another if it's worked yet. It got a charge, which by all means, from what we've heard I support, but as someone with some legal background (two years of law school), I know there's a loooooong way to go to see if all the evidence leads to a conviction or should lead to a conviction.
i just thought it was weird someone was pronouncing him "guilty" just because he was officially charged. that goes against every tenet/basis of our judicial system IMO.
let me turn the tables on you for a second and talk about another case. How did proclaiming the Duke LaCrosse players guilty turn out in that case before it even went to trial? I afforded them the same courtesy as I do Pacman because I believe in the core values of our judicial system. They were innocent until proven guilty. Not saying that will be the same outcome here (in fact, it probably won't be) but when all the stuff was coming down on those kids, I never condemned them because to do so goes against everything I believe about the tenets of the American judicial system.
there's a huge difference between saying someone looks like thye should be charged with a crime versus flat out calling them guilty before all the facts are laid out in a court of law.
