This is good news. :)

I just hope that he can actually stay healthy during the season. I'm not feeling too confident about that right now.

Here's what happened after his first knee injury:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carson_Palmer#2006_season

Palmer vowed he'd be the starting quarterback in the Bengals' regular season opener at Kansas City on September 10, 2006.

Palmer returned in time for the 2006 preseason. After the Bengals' 48–17 pre-season victory over the visiting Green Bay Packers on August 28, 2006, which saw Palmer complete 9 of 14 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns in just less than two quarters of play in his much-expected debut (which included an 11-yard run for a first down that culminated in a slide on his surgically repaired left knee), Palmer reiterated his position that he would be starting in the Bengals' season opener at Kansas City.

Palmer ended up starting all 16 of the Bengals' regular season games, missing only one snap, due to his getting the wind knocked out of him.

Not worried about his health...He had 2 freak injuries this season, but was healthy for every game last year. Same for Stanton...he hasn't shown to always be injured, either. They will both be fine. Beef up the guards and keep the QB's clean...that's the ticket.

I am happy to keep Palmer and Stanton as long as they can get the qbof in the draft or other means if they think Thomas is not going to be that qb.

You're right. Stanton was never injured for those 4 years he never played.

said it would swell if standing for too long didn't wanna hurt his rehab.

also didn't wanna risk something happening where someone charges towards sideline and he couldn't move fast enough to get out of the way.

How about sitting next to Tom Moore?

It is so bogus that as a team captain, Palmer was not there to support his team. Dockett had an ACL too and he was there from week one.

We need Palmer back, period. There will be no QB out there better that they can plug in and win. I think we saw what happened when he went down. I don't want that from the get go next season.

If they keep Stanton that will be great but I don't want him under center much, if at all, next year. As far as the QBOF I have no idea what they will do, they haven't had one of those in...like...forever.

As far as the sideline thing, much ado about nothing IMO. I haven't read or heard anything from BA or the other players about it. No offense intended to you Mitch (you know I respect your takes and a couple of others have mentioned it also), but it is a bit nitpicky criticism to me.

At any rate, this is good news that he is planning to be back.

A couple of the rumors that I've heard floating around are that Fitzgerald doesn't expect to be back and that the Bears are willing to listen to a deal for Cutler.

With Arians' track record for helping QB's, would this move actually be good for Arizona? With what many consider a "bad" year for Cutler he still put up 30 TD's in 15 games. Yes, he had too many turnovers but that's where the Arians part of the equation comes in.

I mean, it wasn't that long ago that Palmer was afflicted with the same propensity to turn it over often and at the worst time. I like Palmer and hope he comes back but non-contact knee injuries are very worrisome IMO. Combine that with his turning 36 next year...

Cutler isn't much younger at 32 but 4 years is a career's worth of time with a team nowadays. Anyone familiar with the cap know if this is even feasible? Cut Palmer and Fitzgerald and take on (a restructured?) Cutler.

No. Absolutely not. The problem with cutler is that he has no leadership ability.

Instead of harping on this, how about he was not on the sidelines because he was doing what needs to be done to get back on the field. And what if he was on the sidelines and a play goes out of bounds clobbering him and ending his career. Would you have been happy with that?

Dockett's injury is also his first while this is Palmer's second on the same knee. I'd cut him a little slack here.

His whole situation is just plain weird. The day after he gets injured he's saying that he doesn't know what the Cardinals will do---what? three days after they signed him to a three year extension? It was weird too that all season up to that point at press conferences he was in Cardinals' hats and shirts and in this press conference where he was casting doubts on his future with the team, he's wearing a black hat and nothing Cardinals' related.

Combine that weirdness with him being a captain and not a visible presence even in a playoff game...seeing as, having taken all the reps he knows the offense better than anyone...that he could at least be helping out back where Tom Moore is.

I don't have a good feeling about this at all.

A couple of the players said that Palmer has been in all the meetings and at all the practices. He was also front and center when doing the final media session (in a John Deere cap). Don't think there's too much to worry about.

Thanks. I saw his interview and liked what he said.

I viewed that press conference and palmers comments (I'm going to play somewhere , I hope it's here , but I understand it's a business) left me wondering if someone in the FO had uttered a buyers remorse comment .
As for helping More , I'm fine with Palmer not trying to do that . BA always talks to the QB coming off the field , then the QB gets with TM , adding Palmer into the equation might be to much info . I get that from watching boxing , I never like to see 3 guys in the corner trying to explain to the fighter what is going wrong , one guy needs to do the talking and the other 2 need to shut up .
