So does this save us any room cap wise? If not, where is the money coming from?

Our cap situation is pretty good.

According to spotrac, this is how much we have left for 2017 before Fitz/Palmer extensions but AFTER Honey Badgers.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/2017/

$36,388,993

...and this does not include whatever the cap goes up by, which seems to be 10+ million a year.

So we literally might still have $46 or so million to spend on re-signing our guys, rookies, free agents.

It's 6th most space for 2017 in the NFL.

For 2018 (also 6th most space)
$75,206,220

+ TWO years worth of cap raises, so it might be around $95 million

Meanwhile, for comparison, here's the Eagles....

2017 $-30,838,690
2018 $-14,615,605

That's before any cap raises.

Other teams with potential issues for 2017
Jets $-20,340,731
Cowboys $-17,442,316
Chiefs $-15,347,802
Ravens $-7,341,658
Texans $-3,685,894

Our cap situation is comparatively in pretty good shape. I'm not worried one bit.

Are those negatives?

Comparatively in good shape? We have one of the best rosters top to bottom in the NFL and yes Keim has his work cut out for him in the offseason but to be as good as we are and have the 6th most cap space the next two year is absolutely astounding. If our front office isn't the best int he NFL, it's easily top 5.

This may have been covered earlier in the thread, but how does this impact our cap figure this year and next?

#AZCardinals QB Carson Palmer’s contract is now fully guaranteed through 2017 — plus he got a $6.75M signing bonus.

#AZCardinals gave QB Carson Palmer a 1-yr extension worth just under $24.35M, source said. Next 2 years are now fully guaranteed. Up in ‘18

I cant even wrap my mind around what that must feel like. Get thrown $6 million dollars bonus here, salary for $18 mill there.

Its literally monopoly money. Just numbers added to account already full of big numbers

Well he was labeled "done" & "just another WR" by many here heading into last season. Lol
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I knew he wasn't & glad he proved them wrong

LOL... I know a certain poster whose name rhymes with "pain" who made that claim quite consistently prior to last season! ;)

Keim and Disner are both doing great work. I believe that Michael is behind the extension of Fitz for sure and love that he is setting a culture that if you are a great Cardinal you will be taken care of.

Happy to see this. Still waiting on three big ones . . . Calais, Floyd, and jones. Getting HB behind us was huge. But there's still only one franchise tag and those are three key pieces.

I think that's a mistake. Particularly with Floyd and with Fitzhabing to someday ride off into the sunset.

I don't disagree... But if you see these contracts mediocre WRs are pulling its crazy... Gonna take a crap ton to get CJ signed too.

“If you’re part of this organization and you’re on the inside, you see how great it is,” Palmer said earlier this week. “More importantly, you’ve been elsewhere, and you see how it is. You understand how special this place is from the top down. I think everybody in this locker room gets why they’re here.”

An awesome quote right there!!!!! Who woulda ever thunk it?
