.... unless he is 150% ready! The last thing he needs to do is rush through the light rehabbing of his shoulder and play.

A. He might not be as effective as a healthy Drew Stanton who is currently feeling the mojo

B. It makes the Denver defense even more aggressive to try and knock him out of the game, he is a sitting duck out there! Anyone have the skinny on how Denver's pass rush has looked?

side note-- because of all this massie and veldeer better bring their "A" game. Veldeer im not so worried about, but #70 I am.

For goodness sake, lets eat some cake.

Denver is the #31 pass defense in the League. So...not all that impressive.

He is the starter, and should play if ready.

actually, I didn't explain this well in my first post. What I am more concerned with, is putting palmer in a less than 100% situation. If Stanton is going to play reasonably well at 100% percent like he did last week, cards may be better off letting Palmer sit another week.

If Palmer, the docs, and the coaches think he's ready to go, hell yeah you play him. Can't really believe this is even a thought. It's not like it's the 85 Bears defense he will be playing against.

When he is ready he should play. Everyone seems to forget what he did in the last ten games or so last year. Carson is our QB period. He should do well against the Broncos. Lets go big red!

I will be surprised if he is ready to go. If he is then all the crazy stuff he was doing to try and wake that nerve up worked.

BA will be the one to decide who will get the start in Denver , if Palmer shows BA that he is ready , then Palmer will start , if not , BA will start Stanton . I'm guessing that BA will not consult this thread to make his decision .

In a way I like the bye week giving time to recover Palmer, Ellington and Cromartie
but I dislike it coz it killed the momentum a bit
if Denver was next week, and Drew starting, how would we feel about it?

I'm glad it's now, though I wasn't before the season started. We have some banged up dudes.

Nobody really mentions our punter but Zastadil is huge for our D and will be fully healthy. He's the difference between them starting at the 20 or at the 5. That's huge.

Badger can reflect and evaluate from his tape, huge. The new guys can get their legs under them (Kelly specifically) and really buy in to what we're selling, huge. And probably every player has some ding somewhere.

Look at our schedule after Denver. That is a crucial stretch. All games are obviously, but the few games after Denver and the last divisional games of the season, all back to backs, are really going to determine how our season goes. I'm glad to have the bye now.

They'll be able to tell if Palmer has his normal velocity and arm strength. If he does, he should play. If he goes out there with Alex Smith arm strength, Stanton will likely start.

Seems obvious since he has proven beyond all doubt that he knows what he is doing, so whoever BA says should start at QB is the QB who should start.

BTW, last season when all of the armchair coaches demanded that BA bench Palmer and play Stanton due to the many interceptions Palmer threw behind the crappy offensive line, BA stuck with Palmer because he knew Stanton would have had a more difficult time behind the crappy offensive line while trying to pass to receivers who were still getting their routes mixed up and running the wrong way.

Totally unlike Whisenhunt, BA and his coaches actually know what they are doing and all of the players recognize this. Perhaps fans should consider the incompetent coaching era of Whisenhunt is long gone and we actually have real winners (BA and his staff - Tom Moore, Goodwin, Bowles, and the rest) in town!

Incompetent coaching era of Whisenhunt?
Totally disagree. He and his assistants were very good coaches. They just had a little trouble with player evaluation. Especially at QB.

One thing that did come out of that poor talent evaluation is that the Kolb fiasco allowed us to finally be rid of Rod Graves.

He should be 100% before he comes back. We are going to need him for the long haul.

Or playing for. That team they won even when Steve Fuller was QBing.
