Anyone have any secrets about parking near the stadium? I have not been to a game there since the first year it opened.. We just moved back and are heading to a game tomorrow

The attendance is so low now that you can find decent parking fairly easily.

take the Light Rail instead, its easier, faster and much cheaper than trying to park down there.

If you're coming from the East Side/Valley park at one of these stations:

  • 38th Street and Washington
  • Dorsey Lane / Apache Blvd
  • McClintock Drive / Apache Blvd
  • Loop 101 Freeway / Apache Blvd
  • Sycamore / Main Street

If you're coming from the North or West try one of these:
  • Montebello and 19th Avenue
  • 19th Avenue and Camelback
  • Central Avenue and Camelback

We always park near 2nd street and McKinley (on the street) for free and walk to the game.

cool thanks for the answers.. In Minnesota we used to take the train to the games.. Just don't know much about the train down here... I think if I can park for free I may take the walking option.. THat way I can have another beer

It's a nice walk by the basketball arena, Hard Rock Cafe, Hyatt, Symphony Hall, the AZ Republic building, and some ASU buildings/dorms. Only about a mile. Probably some closer street parking too, but we like the walk.

Anywhere from the Railroad tracks North, inside the 7s is perfectly safe. Downtown used to be scary in the 80s/early 90s, now its just sorta dull. But thats making a step in the right direction I suppose.

Keep in mind the meters are only $1.50 an hour and only run to 8pm. So you could pay just around $2-2.50 at a nearby meter thats real close to the stadium and walk.

I always parked at the church on 7th st between Jefferson and Washington. Easy exit on 7th st to the freeway [I-10}.

No. The Rockies are a relatively new team too, its not like anyone here has any long standing history with the Rockies or reason to hate them. The Snakes don't really have any rivals as they're new and no NL West team has been consistently good at the same time the D'backs were good.

When the Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs and now Dodgers (due to the influx of SoCal transplants) are in town attendance will swing up, but thats about it. But unfortunately Chase Field was massively over built at 49,000 seats when it probably should've been built at about 40K like most of the newer stadiums have been. Chase was the last of a dying bread the mega huge stadium and now we pay the price with an often half empty stadium that feels lifeless.

sounds like the Metrodome was for the Twins.... 55,000 seats and even when the Twins have been most night it was over half empty
