I am a bit on the fence with this one. Technically, there is not supposed to be body contact after 5 yards... HOWEVER, there always is some pushing and positioning that takes place with the ball in the air. At the end of the play, it was clear that he still could have caught the ball, thus the no call.

I think the ref would have thrown the flag if there had been no chance to make the catch.

The play that Philly fans should be pissed about was the play earlier. On 3rd and 10, Donovan threw it behind the receiver who had a clear lane to at least 8 yards over the middle, possibly the first down.

PI??? Maybe... But part of winning is getting the breaks. Happens all the time.

In any sport, leaving it up to a call by an umpire or referee is not an excuse.

I remember Cardinal players in the past, ( like after the hit A-Dub laid on Heap), " We can't put ourselves in a position where the refs can affect the game".

To say that cost the Eagles a victory is absurd. Yes it was their last chance , but they failed to execute on more than a few other opportunities.

Remember the Rob Moore tackle in the endzone against Dallas a few years ago? Those are the kinds of calls that this team never gets, but that is changing.

I think the refs should never be in a situation to decide a game. Of course if there is a blatant call then they should do their job, but this was questionable. ESPN said it was a good no call in that situation along with the NFL network.

haha.

it was minimal, but it was there. Guy still should have caught it.

Yes... in the strictest, most ticky-tack way of calling a game, yes... However, take a close look at the play when you get the chance and then try to argue that Hood's mere touching of Curtis was enough to force him to fall, and even more somehow led to his inability to make the catch...

You should never see a PI call made in that circumstance and amazingly, the ref made the right call... which was of course no call at all... ;)

I agree with all of that. But we usually have that call happen instead of the right thing happening. To me, I feel we got away with it, even though I'd have been upset if the call was actually made.

Somewhere, somehow, that makes sense to me.

Here it is. Looks to me like Hood loses his footing, knows he's beat, so he makes a shoestring tackle before the ball gets there.

Great, heads-up play to prevent Curtis from getting YAC. It may have saved a TD. Like I wrote earlier, in the regular season, this is called PI 9 out of 10 times. Not in the playoffs, where the old unspoken rule is "If the ball hits your hands, you should catch the ball."

Fitz catches that pass 100% of the time. Quit bitching.

Maybe it could have been called, but it was a good no call. And it's not like there weren't bad calls against us. In the end, it's just something for bitter fans to hang their hat on.

We've now officially exited the Cardinal Bizarro world and entered the world of normalcy... We now get the calls 99.9% of all other teams get. It's a nice world. It's a more sane world... It's where we belong!

A lot of this BS seems induced by Aikman. I'd really appreciate not ever having that jackass call our game again. They had the NFL replay of the Dallas game this afternoon and the second to last play from scrimmage, Aikman has to grudgingly comment that they could have called roughing the passer on Romo. Nothing we do is ever going to be legit to that guy. Get over it Troy. Our team is in the Superbowl and yours hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade.

I was chattting with my friend (a Bears fan) over the phone about it and he felt it was a makeup call on the botched kickoff call in the first half. I didn't argue with him, but mentioned that even if the Eagles get that call, there's no guarantee they get the TD to tie it up.

i'm with ya. besides, we got jobbed on the sideline kickoff thing that would have basically ended the game in the first half... AND, I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but on the 3rd and 19 bomb that completely changed the game, the play-clock hit double zero before McNabb snapped the ball. They don't show the actual clock on the game replay, but I was watching it intently and was f'ing FURIOUS when nothing was called.

years of bad luck, penalties, karma, whatever you have it... was it PI? Probably, but I couldn't care less.

If Hood doesn't slip, i think he picks it off. Like others said, a good WR makes that catch in that situation. The ball still hit him right in the hands.

It wasn't pass interference because no flag was thrown, pure and simple. Now get some rest and get ready for the Superbowl.
