dwash or lenon can shadow the TE. Peterson is the only one who can cover crabman.

I expect Braylon to have a monster game. Hes is a big dude and neither Marshall nor Jefferson will be able to defend him or effectively stop him when he gets the ball. PP will do fine vs Crabtree. But Edwards will be a problem.

I want to see them mix up his coverage assignments. If we have a Baltimore situation where AJ Jefferson starts getting abused by someone we can move PP over. Fortunately none of the SF wideouts have elite speed other than Ginn and he is rarely on the field and can't catch a cold, so we won't have to stick PP on a burner the whole game. Vernon Davis is the guy that worries me the most in their passing game, but with Daryl and PP I am not as worried. Smith averages less than 200ypg, so we need to be prepared to stop the run.

We should use him to get two pick-6s on Alex Smith. If I was the coach thats what I would tell him!

The other tight end...He was the on who caught the game winning touchdown against Detroit.
Delanie Walker was targeted 11 times last week.
Granted he's no world beater...but hes still pretty good.

I would rotate Patrick Peterson and Daryl Washington on Vernon Davis, and Daryl Washington, Paris Lenon, and Adrian Wilson on Delanie Walker.

What I really like about Peterson on Davis is that it forces Smith to make longer throws to his outside receivers and allows Peterson to play inside and improvise. Jefferson and Marshall shoul dbe able to handle Crabtree and Edwards. Both have the necessary speed and both are physical enough.

I want to Alex to start and build a chemistry with his receivers.

The thing is Alex is doing what he's been coached to do. Take the easy throw, don't get greedy, don't take chances don't lose the game.

I still think he's not that good but he's doing exactly what Harbaugh wants him to do. If he starts thinking he's better than he really is that's when SF will get in trouble.

I don't how much this is alex or harbaugh....for most of his career people and part of this season where labeling Alex Smith "Captain check down".
He has never been a gun slinger. Alex Smith has thrown for more than 300 yards...what once in his career.

I still think he's not that good but he's doing exactly what Harbaugh wants him to do.
Why wouldn't he do what Harbaugh wants him to do?
I don't know if alex is good or not but one thing he is...is efficient! What are his number in the redzone over the past couple of years? Isn't it 35 tds and 1 int

If he starts thinking he's better than he really is that's when SF will get in trouble.
Alex is a humble dude....I don't think that all of sudden Alex Smith is going to start thinking that he's something that he's not.

How dare you, Ronin! There is only one "Captain Check Down" around these parts, and that is the Hot Tub from Houston!

Put AW on the TE. not our best CB. PP would be over matched in size and strength.

We don't have a safety that matches up with Vernon Davis, and so I want my best cover guy on him. Green Bay employs the same scheme with Charles Woodson and it has proven very effective. While Davis has size, Peterson has way too much quickness.

Does a VD garner that much respect when they will try and run the whole time? Let the young LBs mess with him the same way we want to put PP on the dope WR. They need to get schooled too, and can learn from it. I don't know.

Another nice aspect of having Peterson cover Davis is that it keeps him on the inside of the defense. A nightmare having both Peterson, Washington and Wilson around the ball. It would give Horton a bunch of speed blitz options from various angles.

Did the Men in Black flashy thing you and make you forget who is covering the TE almost every time they score against us?
