Report: Jets have inquired about Patrick Peterson

The Saints, Eagles and Patriots have shown interest in trading for Patrick Peterson. The Jets inquired, too, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Mehta adds that “barring a miracle” Peterson will not end up with the Jets, whose head coach, Todd Bowles, was Peterson’s defensive coordinator in Arizona
.
The Jets don’t fit what Peterson likely would want out of a trade, which is to end up with a contender. The Saints, Eagles and Patriots do, though New Orleans’ trade for Eli Apple on Tuesday likely removes their interest.

Peterson, 28, has made the Pro Bowl every year in the league, and three times he has earned All-Pro. He has 23 career interceptions and 74 pass breakups.

So, I've got the Dan Patrick show on...and the lineup includes Adrian Peterson...no mention of PP21 at all.

Did someone just here Peterson and assume PP21?

Why does this matter? Does he have a no trade clause?

Sure but if we already have a lockerroom problem, and it appears we do, what would be the benefit of trading PP to a team he doesn't want to go to? If we get a great value ok, but what if the rest of teh team is furious that we sent him somewhere he doesn't want to go, it could really backfire.

Guessing he met with management and was told changes were coming, and if not they'll re-address it after the season when the team might get better compensation.

Not sure if off season will increase compensation offers. Teams attempting to make playoffs and SB this season would seem to be more desperate. NFC East and South are wide open as is NFC North.

no it cant. it shows the rest of the team that the front office is going to do what is best for the team and malcontents will be dealt to the best possible deal....so maybe they should stop whining and focus on becoming a better team

Pretty sure he mentions 'years to come'. Seems to me he's dedicated to the team.

Yet he didn’t deny any of the rumors that he requested a trade. He didn’t say anything positive about the organization, coaches management ect. He’s clearly unhappy, but will play and not hold out which is good news (I guess, this season is a wash but we don’t need MORE drama) if nothing else, this should wake Bidwill up to the state of the team.

He probably was musing to a homie and that homie opened his mouth. We all do this, bitch about our job, wife, etc., but at the end of the day it could be worse.

The Cardinals said he is not going anywhere, so this is damage control.

Lost all faith in the guy as a leader.

I hope he shuts his mouth, and goes out and does his job.

Yup. He is unhappy while getting paid to endure this crap.

Imagine how the fans feel who paid money to endure this crap.

Fair weather player, at least we know now where some of the inability of this team to deal with adversity comes from.

I’m good with this. I understand the frustration with this season and I can’t say that I wouldn’t do the same in his situation. My hope is Bidwill and Keim laid out the blueprint for him about a quick rebuild.
