Doesn't matter if players or coaches "do it all the time"... Bottom line is it shouldn't be done. If you are on te field, your eyes and focus are on your assignment and the play - period!
PP got lazy and actually looked at the jumbotron during a live play... Are you kidding me? And had he not been lazy, he might have been able to grab that fumble, or, at minimum make a play on the ball...
PP is so loaded with talent and is such an amazing person off the field. Hard to come down on him this way. However, he messed up...

This pretty much sums it up. He played a great game overall. But that play was embarrassing. Not the time to be looking at the jumbo tron wen you have active ongoing football on the field behind you.

Wow. I just don't get fans at times. I have no problem with the play and recognize that it looked worse than it actually was. Picking at solutions and not problems is ridiculous. I have a bigger problem with Palmer's play in this game rather than Peterson's.

I've been PP's harshest critic but I'd still be fine with the Cards giving him 5/50 or something in that ballpark. If he wants to be the highest-paid corner it's franchise tag then adios.

Peterson screwed up on that play, no doubt about it, probably thought the play was over as the receiver was being tackled/pushed out of bounds, and turned to watch the screen too soon. However that doesn't make him a lousy player, and one that you should be looking to get rid of.

And regarding Peterson on punt returns today - Seattle punter Ryan has a season long average of 40.6 yards. Today his average was 36.6 on 9 punts, because he was kicking them higher than normal to limit Peterson's opportunity for a return, just like most teams that have faced the Cardinals all year. So figure 4yards per punt less X 9 punts that is 36 yards.

Doesn't sound like much, right? Except that Seattle as a team had given up only 25 punt return yards this entire season. Advantage Cardinals!

You pay Peterson top dollar for the simple fact of 'who the hell are you going to get to replace him' that is up to even his level in a game that favors the offense with rules. For the most part he is about as good as one can expect from a draft pick. You really think we are going to draft a better replacement and as far as free agency...for anyone close to his ability, your going to overpay anyways to attain that talent and probably find out you just paid similar bucks he will get somewhere else for a lesser talent. It is simple and harsh, you pay him lol
