New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore is expected to participate in the voluntary offseason program, which is slated to start on April 7.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel shared the news on Monday morning when meeting with a pool of media members at the annual owners meeting.

Barmore missed the first 10 games of the season after being diagnosed with blood clots last summer. He eventually worked his way back into the mix and played in four games before being sidelined for the rest of the year with recurring symptoms.

It was a devastating setback considering he was coming off a breakout 2023 season, when he had 64 tackles, 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble and six pass deflections.

There have been questions surrounding his availability for the 2025 season. So the news that he'll be participating in the voluntary offseason program is a major step in the right direction.

Mike Vrabel says the anticipation is that DT Christian Barmore (returning from blood clots) will be participating in the voluntary offseason program.

The Patriots signed former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams to a historic contract in free agency.

If Barmore is healthy, the duo would form one of the most formidable one-two punches along a defensive front in the entire NFL.
