New England Patriots defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per an announcement from Team IFA president Blake Baratz.

Ekuale proved to be a reliable depth piece for the Patriots' defense, particularly with Christian Barmore sidelined for most of the season.

He started in 16 games for the team, recording 52 tackles and a sack on the year. Before last season, Ekuale served as a solid rotational piece along the defensive front for the Patriots. He could serve in a similar role for a talented Steelers defense in 2025.

As for the Patriots, their defensive line has undergone a serious makeover in the offseason. The team traded Davon Godchaux to the New Orleans Saints and acquired former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams in free agency.

Congrats to these two dudes. Bringing some juice to a D Line near you. You boys deserve it, @steelers and @Commanders got better again today!

There are still plenty of moves for the Patriots left to make after the first full week of free agency. Ekuale and Godchaux were both a part of the 2021 free agency splurge under former coach Bill Belichick.

Now, they're out the door in the 2025 splurge under Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
