Over 30 CB who is coming off an injury, is not available to return until week 6, and wants a lot of money.
He doesn't help us vs the run. He doesn't help us rush the passer without a blitz. I would argue that Vance has shown he isn't going to adjust his scheme for individual players.
He would make our team better, definitely but I don't believe his impact will be worth the cost/risk.
If that is for half a season that is ridiculous. $8-12 million is more likely IMO.Yup. He apparently wants $15m.
That's a huge risk for a 31 year old CB coming off a ruptured quad that nobody has seen play for a year and only had a 58.5 coverage grade from PFF before he was injured for whatever that is worth.
No way is he worth that money.

I think Bill wanted Collins and needed the cap space. But your point is well-taken. Buyer beware if the Pats let him go. Also apparently some in league circles think he wasn't really still hurt but just wanted his contract 'sweetened'.I think thats the full season target but it's still ridiculous for a 31 year old coming off a major quad injury who wasn't playing well before.
If Belichick doesn't think he's worth that money, and Bill knows his status better than anyone, then seems weird other teams might throw that money at his sight unseen.
A heavily incentive laden contract that paid a base of around $7m is the most I would give him for the rest of this year.
They cut him. He is free to negotiate with anyone and go to the highest bidder. If we trade for him, we have to take on the $5.3 million remaining with only $2.5 in cap room. The Patriots did this to save money, so they wouldn't take back a player of even money, so we'd have to create $2.8 million in space. Justin Murray makes $2.7 million, so maybe him? Signing him for around $2 million is the only way this works. The Chargers, Packers and Browns have lots of space, so I'm thinking one of them gets him if Wes looking to win. Bucs have just a tad more than us.
Someone mentioned stepping in a trading before the release was officially done like with Hudson. They cut him. He is free to negotiate with anyone and go to the highest bidder.

They only have 7 million in cap.We play them later this month. Lets hope he goes to a team not on the schedule.
