On ESPN they just said Paul Pierce wants to be traded if the Celtics don't make a move to acquire a star to play next to him. I'm not sure if this is threadworthy or not, but with Boston being involved in multiple trade rumors, perhaps this forces the Celtics to make a move?

This is just getting ridiculous. Has there been an offseason where so many Franchise type players have talked about wanting to leave their team?

Off the top of my head:
Kobe, Garnett, Gasol, Pierce.

That's insane.

Sure, why wouldn't he? It's working for his peers.

Could be, but they announced it on ESPN like it was official or came directly from Pierce.
oo im glad you posted it though because it hasnt been talked about on here but that definitley puts the pressure on ainge to get someone unless he doesn't care about losing pierce.

Makes me wonder if the Celts might do the 3 team deal and hope to convince Marion to stay because at this point its doubtful that the Celts are getting any other star players to go there. They gain Marion's Bird rights which should help in convincing him to stay and it keeps their other star happy.

Its risky but their hand might be forced at this point

Simmons echoed your sentiments in his chat today. You cant be "franchise" and cry about wanting to be traded.

man draft night is going to be crazy or the day before eaither its going to be a heavy trade draft or its going to be a dud where no one gets traded which I think is highly doubtful but will be entertaining none the less to see what happens :) and hopefully the suns are in the mix to move into the top 5-10 range or aquire that all star player Kevin Garnett

I think the league contacted the GMs and players and asked them to make it an entertaining off season - they need to do something to increase fan interest after the playoff disaster.

This has to be related to the reemergence of Garnett/Marion rumors. Ainge is under a lot of pressure now. If he wants to keep Pierce, it would help if he could convince Marion to accept the trade.
