Was just thinking that Jason Kidd must be pretty pissed off right now. He had to have figured that going to San Antonio would give him a championship for sure. Now it looks like the Lakers are going to be the favorites.

With Gary Payton alone I might still give the nod to a healthy Sacramento team or San Antonio depending on what they do this summer. But with Payton AND Malone the Lakers have got to be the clear-cut favorites to win it all next season.

I hope they self- destruct.

Anyways, I still don't think that nobody can beat the Lakers. If the Kings are healthy, and if the Spurs are smart enough to go after Jermaine O'Neal insted of Jason Kidd, they will be able to beat LA.

The thing that scares me about the Lakers is their backcourt- Bryant and Payton. Is there a better defensive backcourt than that?

With the way Ginobili played defensively in the playoffs I would say he and Jason Kidd would not be that far behind. I don't think Gary Payton is nearly as strong defensively as he once was. In fact that this point I would say he is overrated in that department. Bobby Jackson and Doug Christie also combine to be a very good defensive backcourt.

If they could add Scottie Pippen, which is really nothing more than a rumor at this point, he prolly wouldn't be a problem either.

okay i'm going to be a little bitch here but i feel i do deserve the right after being pulled up the other day...

What is it with 'prolly'? I have seen it more than a few times and not just from trh - is it a deliberate misspelling of 'probably' or do you not realise it is a mistake? If its the latter, it does nothing for your attempt at trying to be smart. Then again, your essay length brain pukes don't really give me that impression either....

Well, first of all you have to "realise" that I type these posts pretty quickly, so "its" a deliberate misspelling. "Its" just that a lot of times I attempt to become a better typist, and if I can't do it by just attempting, I'll even try it too.

Seems like some of you guys like to pick on notakiddfan1. Not from this thread alone but also threads in the past. Why is that?

Let me ask this. I think we all agree that the Lakers automatically win the championship with those 4 players. But what about health? We all know that Payton and Malone take incredble care of their bodies. But Shaq and Kobe had some nagging injuries last year. We know Shaq is rarely healthy and doesn't workout. Kobe had some shoulder problems and he just had knee surgery in Colorado (during the time of the sexual accusation) without telling the Lakers (Did you know this? Front office is pissed off).

So anyway the point of this is if Shaq OR Kobe is injured can the Lakers still win the championship with payton and Malone. I say yes. They can definitely carry the team as injury insurance. Wow what a scary team. Why even bother playing the game.

No wonder Jermaine Oneal decided not to sign with the Spurs. He has a far better chance of reaching the finals in the east when Kidd bolts.

Oh brother.

'Realise' - with a 'z' is a bastardised american word.
It's - honest mistake, typo if you will.

Dumb

As far as the Lakers go if they do get those players they will win it all. Even with a couple of injuries they would be a great team.
Maybe 60-65 wins this season.
