Tenn and Jets were sweating points for QB being left-

Are excited- happy to have him.

Similair to Steve Nash coming to the Suns-classy guy- loves to play the game.

Told Matt they are lucky to get him

Short trip from LA

Starting thinking yesterday that he could fall to them

Went with BPA

Same agent as Thomas Jones, hope they don't have a problem getting him in camp- they don't think they will.

Green- just added to depth- thinks QBs need to come in, sit, learn system, then play- will learn from great guy in Kurt

True. Warner is past his prime, but he has some great wisdom to pass on. This is a super position for us to be in.

DAMN! It's a great day/off season to be a CARDS FAN!!!

Needs to come in and prove he should have been #1 taken

Graves- no player more prepared than Matt- been through a lot, high expectations whole college career- very important- expected to be mature

Matt a celeb and great competitor- he's a baller

On the radio, Graves being interviewed:

Graves said they considered trading up, decided not to

Will continue doing BPA, although they do have needs, mentioned defensive line

Will pick highest rated player left on board in the 2nd round

They are hoping to interview Green soon, I'll try to update

Radio saying this is the only Heisman winner to ever play for the Cards, is that right?

Green being interviewed-

Matt had winning record- USC was not that good until Matt went there

6 more picks- just as important- had some good drafts, this one should be good- rest of picks should be able to help right away

(audio sucks- had to hear what green is saying)

Green- time for Cards to be a play-off team

Might take o-line in 2nd- feels you can draft oline men in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round and expect them to compete

Andre Wadsworth congratulates Green for looking toward future, not just worrying about next year and losing his job

Green- need to be stacked at QB position- feels we now are

Reiterates that rest of draft picks this year, very, very, important

Reitierates Navarre is good- will compete with Matt- said if one guy gets injured, you need to have faith in the guy behind him

John Navarre is "the General" won't concede job to anyone.

That's all- hope this was helpful to those who can't hear it!!!!!

Rams should have traded up.

For obvious reasons, I hope Leinhart is a bust. Good pick for Cards.

I Strongly disagree with you that Warner is past his Prime!!! He is still only 35 years old this year. Sorry but tell that to Kurt Schilling at 39, or Nolan Ryan who pitched a No-hitter at 42 years old. Warner is just as dedicated at these guy's. It is up to our O-Line to keep Kurt in the Game. If they do, he can still play untl he is 38-39 years old. What a great mentor he will be for Matt. Something that Jake never had when he was drafted. Look isn't Brad Johnson older than Kurt, and he is playing pretty well at his age. Born (09/13/1968) he will be 38 for this season.

Being dedicated is great, but 300lb men dont tackle starting pitchers.

But 110mph balls come back at them only 52' away, after follow throw. Plus you use more muscles pitching that at QB. More stress on your body. But being hit by a 300 #er will hurt as you state, but so does torn muscles.

Now it is up to our team to better protect Kurt or any other QB we play.

Yes, Andre is a commentator on a PHX sports radio station- sounds smart, too bad his body let him down.

Jude Lacaba (sp) is talking about L. Davis situation suddenly different with Matt being a left-handed QB, interested in seeing what happens with Davis this year and next year with the guy making so much money.

Don't forget about Wells, he has filled in very well for Big when he has been injured. I think he is an instant starter on the right side this year, gets a year of starter experience and is ready to take on the challenge when Leinart starts. Move Ross inside to RG, have M. Brown LG and Lecky as starter.

Nope - John David Crow, 1957 Heisman trophy winner.

Crow still holds two Cardinals records:
Most rushing touchdowns, season - 14 (1962)
YPC, season - 5.9 John David Crow, 1960 (183–1,071) (min 100 carries)

Here's to hoping his touchdowns/season record falls to James this year!

There was an interesting discussion with several NFL players including Trent Green, Tory Holt, etc concerning helping new players. All agree it is not the old guys job to run around tutoring a guy to take his job. They all agree to answer any questions for them but it is up to the new guy to learn the job by watching and asking questions when they want to. They said they are not baby sitters and it is not part of their job description.

Nothing wrong with that as long as they are helpful when asked. I would agree that it is the younger player's responsibility to seek out the vet and ask questions.

But, some things can only be learned on the field.
