I could see how some situations would not be that great for Mac...if Marty does offer the DC job to him...his income for 2004 would be same if he sat at home as if he took the job....and the problem I could see is that if marty does not start winning in a year or two....the entire staff will go - so it could be a short gig.

Mac may be thinking he likes it here in the Valley...why not hang out for a year (where he would get cardinals money + perhaps some national tv dough for weekend duty + whatever else he can gin up)...

Id leave town if I were him. If Denny goes 10-6 with essentially the same roster it could get quite embaressing for Mac.
